🇹🇷 Turkiye May Join Europe’s Euro Payment System

The EU has offered Turkiye to join SEPA, the major European payments area. 

If accepted, transfers in euros between Turkiye and countries inside the Union could become much faster and cheaper for both businesses and individuals.

Turkiye hasn’t responded yet. The only pitfall is that local banks could lose income from transfer fees if the country joins the system.

🇲🇹 Malta Is Considering Legislation for Prediction Markets

It’s going to be the first EU country to regulate prediction markets.

The government sees this sector as a new part of the country’s digital economy, much like they once did with iGaming.

In general, the European rules on Prediction Markets are still unclear.

📌 France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal, Romania, the Netherlands and Poland have already blocked both prediction market giants for offering gambling services without local licenses.

🇵🇦 Panama Tightens Control on IGaming Operators

Panama’s National Assembly has approved a bill to strengthen online gambling rules. 

The plan adds a 10% tax on online casino revenue and a strict ban on the media advertisement. Besides this, it requires biometric ID checks and deposit limits for the players.

The local regulator, JCJ, will get more power to control operators, with fines of up to 10% of revenue, licence suspension, or even criminal charges. 

The bill is still waiting for the president’s signature.

🇱🇹 Lithuania: Fortuna Entertainment Group agreed to buy a 70% share of the local giant TOPsport

🇳🇿 New Zealand: A new national online casino bill will ban affiliate and influencer marketing deals. 

🇪🇸 Spain: The local online gambling market reached €1.7B in 2025, up around 17% year on year. 

🇺🇸 USA: 
🔵 The New York Authorities passed the anti-gambling-harm bills that made self-exclusion measures easier but tightened ad rules for mobile betting. 

🔵 Legal sports betting in New York has decreased the citizens’ credit health rates and enforced higher crime rates. 

🔮 Predictions: Kalshi and Polymarket both added new anti-insider trading rules, with a total block on the sports and political figures from trading.

✅ The Regulator Had Never Seen a Setup Like This. We Made Sure They Approved It Anyway

🇳🇵 Nepal Bans All IGaming Platforms Within 24 Hours

Nepal’s government has ordered the immediate shutdown of all online betting apps and websites within 24 hours. Since today, at least 16 betting sites’ve been blocked.

The telecom authority is now checking all of the IP addresses and URLs for blocking.

In Nepal, iGaming doesn’t have a proper legal framework. Instead of building the regulations, they now consider all gambling platforms to be prohibited by default.

🇮🇪 Irish Players Became Victims Of The Fake Licensed Gambling Websites

Gambling sites with fake Anjouan licences are targeting Irish users. 

Besides this, many local influencers actively helped to promote them, including brands like Gambana and Rainbet, which worked without any legal approval.

Operating without a local licence is still illegal in the country.

After the last regulatory reform, running an unlicensed gambling business in Ireland can lead to up to 8 years in prison.

🇫🇮 New Finnish Gambling Law Adds Real-Time Data Requirements 

Finland plans to require licensed operators to send player and betting information to the regulator in real time. 

Under the draft rules, all game and transaction data must be sent in a fixed format without later changes.

The project needs to go through the European Commission approval process, which takes up to three months.

🔮 How Prediction Markets Are Changing the iGaming Industry: An Exclusive Guide for Operators

With the huge spike in interest in prediction markets, the iGaming and fintech sectors are following the trend in two main ways: by building specialized hubs and by folding these features directly into existing super-apps.

🚫 Dutch Regulator Discovered Banned Markets Schemes on The Local Platforms

The Dutch gambling regulator, KSA, found that several online betting operators were offering prohibited betting markets, including bets on awards like Most Valuable Player (MVP). 

After the regulator stepped in, the companies removed those markets immediately.

KSA also reminded the market that licensed operators are fully responsible for everything they offer, even if the betting content comes from third-party sportsbook providers.

🇨🇦 Alberta Sets New Deadlines for Gambling Licence Applications

Now, to enter Alberta's newest regulated market, operators must fully submit their licence application by 13, July, 2026. 

They also have to pay all required fees and stop any unlicensed activity. If needed, the authorities can give a short extension until 13, October, 2026.

As the market is expected to launch later in 2026, Alberta has already opened the application window for the operators.
