چهار مشکل در نوشتن ایمیل در تافل:

Common tone mistakes

1. Too direct
• “Send me the file.” ❌
→ “Could you please send me the file when you have a chance?” ✅

2. Too emotional / dramatic
• “This is terrible and unacceptable!!!” ❌
→ “I’m sorry to say there seems to be an issue…” ✅

3. Too casual for academic
• “Hey prof, what’s up?” ❌
→ “Dear Professor…, I’m writing to…” ✅

4. Overly formal / unnatural
• “I humbly beseech you…” ❌
→ “I’d appreciate it if…” ✅

پنج توصیه برای بخش لیسینینگ تافل از سایت رسمی ETS

1. Give yourself hints
Don’t try to write every word you hear. Instead, use symbols, keywords, arrows and abbreviations to remember key ideas and examples.

2. Listen for tone
Questions sometimes ask about a speaker’s purpose or attitude. Make sure you understand different tones, including voice changes and emphasis on certain words.

3. Focus, focus, and focus
You need to remain focused throughout the listening section. Zoning out for just a few seconds could cause you to miss key points and make it difficult to answer certain questions.

4. Don’t panic if you miss something
While focus is important, the key to your Listening section isn’t perfection- it's impossible to remember every detail. Instead, you want to focus on the main points and ideas. If you miss something, remain calm and focus on what you already heard.

5. Practice with real materials
Official TOEFL prep is a great way to start your exam revision, but make sure you include other real-world materials as part of your learning process. Listen to podcasts, university lectures, YouTube and have conversations with English speaking friends. Exposure to these materials could help you feel more confident on test day.

Urban Resilience

Community engagement is another critical component of urban resilience. Local governments are involving residents in planning and decision-making processes to ensure that the needs of the community are met. This participatory approach fosters a sense of ownership and accountability among citizens, improving the effectiveness of resilience strategies. Technology also plays a role, with smart city initiatives using data and sensors to monitor infrastructure and predict potential problems.

Nonetheless, building urban resilience is not without obstacles. Budget constraints and political disagreements can hinder the implementation of necessary measures. Additionally, the integration of new technologies requires substantial investment and training. Despite these obstacles, the pursuit of urban resilience is essential for the sustainable development of cities.
