In humans, Melanin is a chemical that is produced in a specialized group of cells known as melanocytes.

It has several life sustaining benefits.

There are three basic types of melanin: eumelanin, pheomelanin, and neuromelanin.

Neuromelanin is the melanin found within the brain and nervous system comprised of either pheomelanin or eumelanin.



The most common is eumelanin, of which there are two types—brown and black.

What IS a lime? Turns out, the limes you see at grocery stores are almost universally "underripe." Now, that doesn't mean they're BAD...underripe limes are more tart, acidic, and have less juice...which is often what you're looking for in a lime!

In my citrus orchard, I'm growing a Bearss lime, which turns a nice pale yellow when TRULY ripe and is one of the juiciest citrus you'll ever taste. The flavor is more mild, with a light lime taste but far less acidity.
