significant portion of the harassment these streamers receive. Note that this rule does not apply to comments; people are still able to link and discuss old clips in comments. We don’t anticipate this exception to cause any problems, though we are open to revisiting this if necessary.
We are also implementing a rule regarding out of context clips as part of our goal of combating harassment. We enforced this rule previously, though it was never written until now. Here is the full text of the rule:
>Do not post clips, quotes, tweets, etc. about public figures that are taken out of context with the intention of harassing someone or causing drama.
Additionally, we have implemented a rule preventing people from submitting things that are not clips. This change was made due to the sheer amount of tweets being posted recently. We feel that long chains of tweets makes it difficult for the more casual readers to understand what these submissions are about, as these types of posts often cannot stand on their own. More importantly, allowing these chains to happen prolongs drama, which is often the source of harassment towards streamers.
Lastly, we have made the decision to ban Keemstar from being posted on the subreddit. [As Slasher says](https://twitter.com/Slasher/status/1277492078520434688), Keemstar does no original reporting, manufactures drama, and is generally a dangerous presence to have in the LSF community.
That’s the jist of the changes we are making to the harassment rule. Let’s move on to the other major changes we have made.
#Politics
We are relaxing our politics rule slightly to allow people to discuss politics in comments. This is because we feel that the old politics rule was very restrictive, often being applied simply because people used political terms to help them make a point in completely unpolitical discussions. However we still do not allow political submissions. Here is the full rule:
>Politics are out of scope for LSF, so any submissions related to politics will be removed. Political discussions in comments are allowed, as we can appreciate that comment threads can naturally drift away from the main point of discussion, as well as the fact it can be difficult to discuss certain non-political topics without using political terminology.
>Exceptions are made when the subject of the submission directly relates to gaming and/or streaming. Examples of such exceptions are the Blizzard-Hong Kong controversy in 2019, or streamers talking about the effect of Article 13 on the industry. Naturally, comments in these threads will drift in focus as you scroll down comment chains, so discussing off-topic politics in the comments of these submissions is permissible.
This is quite an experimental change and we will be closely monitoring the effect of this change in the coming weeks. As always, if you have any feedback we would love to hear it.
#Final thoughts
For a full representation of what’s changed, please see the [rules page](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/wiki/rules).
A lot has changed today, and there is still much more to come. Provided there are no more major changes we need to make to the rules, our sights will now be placed firmly upon getting some more permanent moderators, before implementing a solid infraction system to enable us to make more consistent decisions when it comes to warning and banning users who break these rules.
We are confident that these changes are necessary to improve the subreddit, and again, we will greatly value any feedback you can provide - positive or negative. We will be reading the comments to answer any questions you may have.
