Syriaβs President Ahmad al-Sharaa arrived in Deir Ezzor May 29 alongside a high-level ministerial delegation to oversee emergency flood response
Syrian emergency and disaster response teams, known as the White Helmets, continued efforts to address rising water levels in the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor, reinforcing main bridges and building protective earthen berms around power stations in several towns.
The teams also strengthened flood barriers to shield residential areas, while three emergency aid stations continued transporting humanitarian, medical, and emergency cases across the river after bridge access was cut by the rising waters.
