The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has launched a five million dollar project to aid 17,300 vulnerable families in northeastern Syria.

The initiative delivers 6,400 metric tons of feed and seeds to Al-Hasakah, Raqqa, and Deir Ezzor to prevent a collapse in production among rural households.

Syrian Minister of Local Administration Mohammed Anjarani visited the National Housing Company in riyadh, where he reviewed its urban development projects and housing solutions.

During the visit, he discussed potential cooperation aimed at sharing expertise and improving municipal and local administration development.

The QNB Group, a major Qatar-based financial institution and one of the largest banks in the Middle East, has launched payment card acceptance and digital payment services in Syria, following steps by the Central Bank of Syria to modernize the financial sector.

The initiative introduces international card payments and aims to expand digital infrastructure, support financial inclusion, and reduce reliance on cash.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior (Interpol branch), in coordination with Interpol, held a virtual workshop on international notices and judicial cooperation.

Judges and officials reviewed practical cases, discussed legal challenges, and explored ways to enhance alignment with international standards and cooperation.

A source at the Ministry of the Interior said security forces foiled a large scale terrorist plot and dismantled a cell seeking to destabilize the country during coordinated operations across several governorates, arresting all members and seizing their weapons.

Senior military leaders in the eastern region held talks on advancing military integration and security arrangements, attended by Presidential Envoy Ziad al-Ayesh, Deputy Defense Minister for the Eastern Region Sipan Hamo, and senior commanders including officials from the 60th Division.

A presidential team spokesperson said discussions also covered operational progress and efforts to restore the justice system in al-Hasakah, including reopening courts, while prioritizing detainee cases and working to secure their release.

Syria condemned a reported Iranian drone attack on the United Arab Emirates that caused injuries, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

Damascus expressed full solidarity with the UAE, rejecting any actions threatening regional security and stability. It reaffirmed the need to respect international law, the UN Charter, and state sovereignty.

Green Energy, the electricity provider for northern Syria’s Idlib governorate, said a technical failure on the Turkish side has reduced incoming power to about 35 megawatts, forcing the company to implement temporary rationing across most lines, with supply reduced by 20 to 30 percent.

The company said the disruption is beyond its control and that it is coordinating with Turkish authorities to resolve the issue.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani received Mikael Lindvall, Director-General for Global Affairs at Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in Damascus, where they discussed regional developments and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
