Joint Statement by Syria and Jordan, issued as the outcome of the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Syrian-Jordanian Higher Coordination Council:

📌 Launching Diplomatic Interaction Week to exchange expertise and coordinate foreign missions.

📌 Forming joint working groups for regional telecom, food, rail, and energy projects.

📌 Implementing a reciprocal trade and aligned customs mechanism starting May 1, 2026.

📌 Resuming transit trade and enhancing mutual utilization of maritime ports.

📌 Establishing a joint donor mechanism for Syrian public sector and infrastructure funding.

📌 Upgrading the Nasib-Jaber crossing into an international-standard model border facility.

Joint Statement by Syria and Jordan, issued as the outcome of the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Syrian-Jordanian Higher Coordination Council:

📌 The Joint Water Committee was reactivated to ensure fair water sharing and develop the Yarmouk Basin and joint cloud-seeding projects.

📌 Natural gas supplies to Syria are set to resume within two days following the supply agreement signed in January 2026.

📌 Technical teams will continue repairing electrical interconnection lines to supply the Syrian grid with electricity from Jordan.

📌 New trilateral cooperation involving Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia was discussed regarding regional digital economy and telecommunications links.

📌 Nine memoranda of understanding were signed covering media, health, justice, tourism, social development, and higher education.

Joint Statement by Syria and Jordan, issued as the outcome of the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Syrian-Jordanian Higher Coordination Council:

📌 The Council condemned Israeli attacks on Syrian territory as violations of international law and demanded a withdrawal to the 1974 disengagement lines.

📌 Both nations prioritized the full implementation of the roadmap for Suwayda and southern Syria to ensure regional stability and unity.

📌 The session concluded by reaffirming the Hashemite Custodianship of Jerusalem’s holy sites and welcoming the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Damascus Governor Maher Marwan said road resurfacing campaigns across the capital will begin soon. He also revealed plans for a 2-km tunnel linking western and eastern Damascus, with negotiations underway with companies and an estimated cost of $35 million.

He added that relocating some government complexes to the city’s outskirts is being studied to ease traffic congestion.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces opened fire on a shepherd and his flock in Ruwayhinah village in central Quneitra countryside, killing more than 15 sheep. In a separate incident, Israeli forces reportedly detained a young man from the same village.

🔴 Several Syrian workers were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an orchard in the town of Abbassiyeh in the Tyre district, Lebanon.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Israeli strikes in Syria are creating a “major problem area” and pose a serious risk to Turkey’s security, with Syria remaining at the centre of regional tensions.

He also warned that Israel has so far been constrained by the Iran conflict but may act more freely once conditions allow.
