Here is a quick review of a very important matter. Not only is Servant Leadership a hot topic these days, it is also essential to our day to day lives, in home and in business. It is crucial to understand what Servant Leadership is in comparison to Self-Serving Leadership. Over time, it is inevitable for the styles of Self-Serving Leadership to change to adapt to its time period, but Servant Leadership has always stayed the same. Here is a quick comparison:

Intentional leading requires courage, clarity, and character. It is easy to be on autopilot rather than intentionally and consciously serving. This is the difference between Self-Serving Leadership and Servant Leadership. Servant Leaders lead with intention while focusing on others. they don't try to correct people, they like to connect with people.

If you would like to read more about the Servant Leadership, then I would encourage you to read my previous article, The Paradox of Servant Leadership.

“Not everybody can be famous. But everybody can be great, because greatness is determined by service. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato or Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein's theory of relativity to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love.” ― Martin Luther King, Jr.

What's your responsibility as a #LEADER? What's your response to these new developments?

LOVE is Leadership through Optimism, Value, and Endurance

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4: 18

When your leadership is built on love, obstacles are overcome through love’s fruit of optimism, foundations are built solid and secure in love’s values, and success is achieved through the strength found in love’s endurance. I challenge you to take action and overcome fear through love this Valentine’s Day. True leadership and success in both personal and professional life derive from love.

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3: 18

A LEGACY OF LOVE: "You can’t lead without love, and more importantly, you can’t leave a legacy without love.

What's your focus word for 2021?

At the beginning of each new year, I take a full day for reflection, meditation, and prayers. I engage in an annual "reconnection day" that gives me a "focus-word" to clarify and maintain my own focus throughout the year.
On January 4, I took a day to refocus myself for the upcoming year. I reviewed all the lessons I've learned, the mistakes I've made, the accomplishments I've had, and I wrote my new action plans for 2021. As I was doing this, I asked God to give me my word for the year. My focus word for the year 2021 is 'influence.'
