🔸These neoplasms may be multifocal, as seen here, because of the propensity to invade lymphatics within thyroid, and metastases to adjacent lymph nodes not only are common, but also may be the presenting feature.

🔸This carcinoma has fronds of tissue with thin fibrovascular cores ( *) that form a papillary pattern with papillations lined by cells with nuclei that appear clear (empty) on H&E staining.

🔸At the center and to the right is a medullary carcinoma of thyroid, which is much more cellular than the adjacent normal thyroid follicles at the left.
🔹يوجد في المنتصف وإلى اليمين سرطان الغدة الدرقية النخاعي كما مشأر إليه بالسهم 1🏹، وهو أكثر خلويًا من جريبات الغدة الدرقية الطبيعية المجاورة على اليسار كما مشأر إليه بالسهم 2🏹.

🔸At the far right is pink hyaline material with the appearance of amyloid.
🔹في أقصى اليمين توجد مادة زجاجية وردية اللون تبدو وكأنها أميلويد مشار إليها بالسهم 3🏹

🔸These neoplasms are derived from the thyroid "C" cells and, therefore, can have neuroendocrine features such as secretion of calcitonin or other hormones.
🔹هذه الأورام مشتقة من خلايا الغدة الدرقية "C"، وبالتالي يمكن أن يكون لها سمات الغدد الصم العصبية مثل إفراز الكالسيتونين أو الهرمونات الأخرى.
