🎉👏🏻 #ProgressUpdate The first phase of the #RoadRepurposing trial at Kampung Admiralty has ended. We will now be moving on to the next phase where the changes will be implemented permanently. We also took on the feedback from the community in the initial phase and the following changes will be made in Phase 2:⁣

🚶🏻‍♂️The lane along Woodlands Ring Road (between Woodlands Drive 71 and Woodlands Drive 63) nearer to Kampung Admiralty will be permanently pedestrianised.⁣

🚗🚌 From mid Aug, both buses and private vehicles will be allowed to travel in a single direction (eastbound from Woodlands Drive 71 towards Woodlands Drive 63)⁣

🚲There will be a new bus stop for bus services 901M and 912/A in front of Kampung Admiralty along Woodlands Ring Road, as well as cycling paths and new covered linkways to increase connectivity.⁣

Works are expected to start in mid Aug and will take up to a year to complete. #MoreSpaceForYou #BetterStreetsBetterLives
👋 Say hello to widened footpaths that will make walking (and shopping!) along Havelock Road even easier!

We are permanently transforming the shopfront area along 715 and 745 Havelock Road after a trial. From what used to be a narrow path, the new path will become one that is wider and more accessible to the elderly and disabled.

Since walking or cycling around the area will soon be more convenient, so why not try leaving your car at home when popping by the area? 😉 #GreenerCommutes

We also took the opportunity to get feedback and suggestions from residents and other stakeholders, and will be incorporating one of the suggestions to build a ramp for barrier-free access.

Works for permanent widening will start in mid Sep and they are expected to complete in Q1 2022.

Let’s look forward to more transformative efforts to make our urban spaces more inclusive and liveable for everyone! 🎉

#KeepCalmAndCycleOn Planning to cycle for work or to meet friends in the Club Street area? We’ve got some wheely good news for you! 😉

🚴🏽‍♂️🅿️ We have recently converted 2 car park lots along this street to bicycle lots, making it more convenient for you to #MoveLite and park your bicycle in the area. With 3 MRT lines in the vicinity, you can also easily use the bicycle for your first-and-last-mile needs. 🙌🏽

This is just one of the ways in which we try to repurpose our road space for active and greener commutes. #GoGreen 🚴🏽‍♂️🌏

🚨#ProgressUpdate We have concluded the first phase of the road repurposing initiative around Tiong Bahru Market! 🎉👏🏻

We will now move into the next phase, making permanent changes to improve pedestrian experience. #MoreSpaceForYou
These changes include new improvements too, following feedback from stakeholders in the area to better serve the community's needs:

🚚 More loading/unloading bays along Lim Liak Street and Seng Poh Road

🚕 Taxi stand moved closer to the Market entrance along Lim Liak Street

🚗 New pick-up/drop-off at the Market entrance and shophouses along Seng Poh Road

#Milestones We‘ve completed our road repurposing efforts along Woodlands Ring Road at Kampung Admiralty and around Tiong Bahru Market! 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏽🏡

If you visit or live in these areas today, you will notice improvements such as wider footpaths, more barrier-free ramps, pedestrian crossings, covered linkways, and community spaces. These make it much easier for you to walk or cycle around, and create a safer and welcoming environment for all. #BetterStreetsBetterLives

👉🏼 Check out some of these recent changes and stay tuned for more to come! 😎 #RedefiningJourneys
#PSA We’ve just launched a Request for Proposal for a Master Plan consultancy to remake the surface streets along the North-South Corridor (#NSC)!

As we progressively complete the NSC’s tunnel and viaduct, surface streets along the corridor, such as Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and Ophir Road, can be repurposed (~30 football fields of space!) to give more priority for walking, cycling, buses, and community spaces. 🚴🏽‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️🚌

#DoYouKnow that we’ve been engaging residents and other stakeholders on their ideas (see photos above!) for these spaces since July 2023? #NowYouKnow 🏘️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We’re now inviting experienced multi-disciplinary consultancy firms to develop a Master Plan to repurpose these spaces to promote #WalkCycleRide and make the streets along the corridor safer, more pleasant and welcoming for everyone!

Stay tuned for more details! 😎
