#Erythropoiesis

هو الfancy name لعملية تكوين كريات الدم الحمر 🌚🍻

بالأجنة:
- بالأشهر الثلاثة الاولى، تتكون الRBCs بطبقة الmesenchyma الموجودة بلyolk sac

- بالاشهر الثلاثة الوراها رح يبدي تكوين الRBCs بالكبد بشكل اساسي (ولهذا هاي المرحلة يسموها بلhepatic stage)، وهمين بالطحال والأعضاء اللمفية.

- بالاشهر الاخيرة رح يبدي نخاع العظم bone marrow وية الكبد بتكوين أغلب الRBCs

#physiology

بالبالغين:
لحد عمر ال20، البالغين يصنعون الRBCs بنخاع كل العظام تقريباً (العظام الطويلة والمسطحة). لكن ورة عمر ال20 نخاع العظام الطويلة يتحول لyellow marrow يخزن الدهون بدون ميصنع كريات الدم الحمر. وينحصر تصنيعهن بلmembranous bones مثل:
- Sternum
- Ribs
- vertebrae
- Ilia (ilium)
- Scapula
- ends of long bones
لأن هاي العظام هي الوحيدة التحتوي على الred marrow اللي يتم بيه تصنيع كريات الدم

In case the bone marrow is damaged, liver and spleen will start producing RBCs to compensate the loss

باختصار: via glycolysis

Types of anemia:

1- Blood-loss anemia:
anemia that's caused by blood loss, Duh

2- Iron-deficiency anemia:
deficiency in iron leads to deficiency in hemoglobin. It's one of the most common types of anemia.

3- Hemolytic anemia:
any anemia that which is induced by hemolysis of RBCs, like spherocytosis, erythroblastosis fetalis, and sickle-cell anemia.

4- Thalassemia:
also known as "mediterranean anemia" and "Cooley's disease" in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin.

5- Vitamin-deficiency anemia:
causes the cells to be too big (the reason it's sometimes called megaloblastic anemia) therefore inducing hemolysis of RBCs in the spleen and some other organs.

6- Aplastic anemia:
anemia caused by an underlying problem in bone marrow.
