LEBIZU has been awarded a groundwater investigation and geophysical survey project by Abyssinia Flowers to support sustainable water resource development. Using advanced Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) techniques, LEBIZU will analyze subsurface geological conditions to identify optimal borehole locations, reducing drilling uncertainty and strengthening long-term water security for the company’s operations.

LEBIZU is pleased to partner with DH Consult to deliver a groundwater mapping project for UNICEF across 20 woredas in Ethiopia’s Somali Region.

The project will generate critical scientific evidence to improve understanding of groundwater resources and support more resilient water supply planning in one of Ethiopia’s most drought-prone regions.

Through integrated hydrogeological analysis, geospatial technologies, and data-driven approaches, we aim to contribute to sustainable groundwater development and climate-resilient water solutions for vulnerable communities.

It was a great opportunity to demonstrate how sound hydrogeological assessment and geophysical surveying can support sustainable and informed water resource management for the client's large farm.

Equal earth projection adopted by the UN, replacing the long-used Mercator projection

The Equal Earth projection is a relatively recent equal-area world map projection, designed by Bojan Šavrič, Tom Patterson, and Bernhard Jenny in 2018.

It is increasingly used for global thematic maps because it preserves area relationships well.

So now on equal earth projection, Africa is much bigger than it was visualized for centuries.
