Dozens arrested in major anti-LGBTQ raids in Turkey • FRANCE 24 English
Turkish police on Sunday swooped on gay bars and the homes of LGBTQ activists, arresting at least 60 people in raids authorities said were aimed at boosting traditional family values, officials and activists said. Turkey's LGBTQ community has frequently been…
If two men kissing together is obscene and two women kissing together is also obscene, what will you call two heterosexuals making out in a park alone?
On fifth year of Russia's war against Ukraine, Indonesian media coverage these days on Ukraine has been predominantly negative — all while Indonesian government is slowly drifting towards a Russia-leaning position.

What makes the ongoing anti-LGBT crackdown in Türkiye problematic isn't whether it's acceptable by the public or not, but rather because LGBTQ isn't even a criminal offense in modern Turkish state — as shown by government's use of unrelated laws, such as obscenity, prostitution, and morality laws, to justify the crackdown
An equivalent of this would be a news organization ordered to shut down over an investigation report of alleged corruption within several government ministries, by using "public order" law as an excuse

On Android version of Riichi City (both Play Store and off-store versions), if system language is set to any language that doesn't use point/dot as decimal separator, download progress bar is shown broken — it'll get stuck at 0% even though asset downloading itself remains unaffected.
Either stay still until download is complete, or switch system language to English or Latin American Spanish first before downloading if you care more about seeing graphical progression than believing it'll eventually complete.
Additionally, Play Store version of the game will request for notification permission while off-store version doesn't request one at all.

The Russian state agency RIA Novosti published a column titled "Another SMO awaits Russia. It will be very short." A few hours later, the material was deleted.
The author of the column is Aleksandr Nosovich, editor-in-chief of RuBaltic.Ru. Journalists had previously established his connection to an influence network coordinated by employees of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Russian presidential administration.
In his text, Nosovich openly discusses what Russia's reaction should be to the recent decision by Lithuania's parliament to lift the ban on hosting nuclear weapons on its territory. One of the scenarios he mentions is strikes with missiles "with an appropriate warhead" on Lithuanian territory.
The author notes that "Russia has a choice of how to wage war" and claims that "thanks to geography," the war will be quick — not like in Ukraine.
The article remained on the RIA Novosti website for several hours and was later deleted. According to Russian media, the text that appeared in place of the article explained the deletion as follows: "The column does not reflect the opinion of the editorial board, editorial policy, or the state policy of the Russian Federation."

What three years have been.
I'll be reviving this channel, but not in format of an updates channel like before. I will start posting my insights and other information here — except on [geo]politics (because in this climate it almost guarantees further division) and media/satellite broadcasting (I have my own medium for this).
Some project updates may stay, but not necessarily about Android. In meantime, consider KudProject to remain under state of indefinite hiatus or perhaps, giving it one last breath for good.
In case you haven't know them yet:
– @KudNotifier remains active notifying Linux kernel releases within 5 minutes after they appear on RSS feed, semi-automatically unless manual intervention is needed
– @onedthch is where I'm posting information about media/satellite broadcasting, especially for Indonesia and the wider Indo-Pacific region; some of these information are from my own observations
– @KudChannel will remain my personal "shitposting station" and things posted there will very likely be either ramblings, mixed-language topics, or game screenshots
Channel name is currently transitional, and I plan to update it again this weekend to better reflect changes in content being served.
Have a nice weekend ahead!✌️

⚡️Russia is preparing up to 1,000 missiles, drones, and aerial bombs for strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure this winter, the NYT reports, citing an intercepted Russian document.
The media outlet notes that Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal showed this text to European partners in Paris.
In particular, the document describes a plan to attack electrical substations, hydroelectric power plants, thermal power plants, and boiler houses, as well as water supply and sewage infrastructure.
The most dangerous part of the plan involves strikes on the distribution nodes of three Ukrainian nuclear power plants to disconnect them from the power grid.
Separate plans concern Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa. Russia wants to reduce electricity and heat supply in these cities by up to 90%. The overall goal is to disable nearly 15 GW of generating capacity.

❗️Putin has ordered the military to abandon all restrictions on air attacks on Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with the FT.
According to the president, Putin gave the order in September to strike civilian infrastructure. At that time, Russia intensified air strikes on Kyiv, attacking schools, hospitals, and data processing centers.
Zelensky says Russia is preparing to intensify attacks on Ukraine's largest cities to isolate them from the rest of the country as winter sets in. The main targets are Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa. According to Ukrainian and European security officials, Lviv also appears in Russia's plan.

Indonesian government has issued a preemptive ban on performance of American gospel band Israel & New Breed, because potential for some Indonesian concertgoers to chant "I stand with Israel" is being seen as national security threat.
And for the uninformed, both the band and its lead singer Israel Houghton are American, not Israeli, and the source of controversy has been a single Instagram post from October 8, 2023, one day after Hamas' attack on Israel.

While it ends up as blanket ban in Indonesia, Malaysia is still undecided whether to let Malaysian leg of the tour in Kota Kinabalu go ahead as planned or not: it gained opposition from Muslim groups going as far as filing police reports, Sabah Police asking government to have it deferred, while increasing number of political figures both in Sabah and federally want it to go ahead — provided the band commits to complying with local laws and avoid invoking political sensitivities.
