FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Senator Kelly Townsend Reacts to the Supreme Court Ruling that upholds Arizona's Election Integrity Laws
JULY 1, 2021
Phoenix, AZ
Today, the Supreme Court of the United States upheld Arizona's right to enact laws that protect election integrity by ensuring ballots can only be carried by the voter and their immediate family members, and ensuring provisional ballots are cast at the correct precinct. In the 6-3 decision in Brnovich v. Democrat National Committee, a decisive blow was dealt to anyone wishing to game the system through ballot harvesting.
Senator Townsend expressed her satisfaction with the decision. "The issue of voter suppression of minorities was dismissed, and the cause of free and fair elections triumphed." Townsend continued, "Although I am sure the defense of good voter integrity laws was costly, I believe it was worth every cent. Hopefully from now on, Democrats can join us in an effort to bolster security so that every voter is confident that their vote was received and counted, without being negated by those breaking the rules."
"My colleagues and I have been diligently trying to close the loopholes that make it easy for cheats, strengthen the chain of custody of the ballot, and improve transparency so that everyone can rest assured Arizona's election is fair. I am grateful to General Brnovich for seeing this through to the end."
Senator Townsend also expressed gratitude that the US Supreme Court recognized the importance of election integrity and hopes that all Arizonans are able to easily and securely cast a ballot in the 2022 primary.
"We just passed many more major election security reforms, yet we still have work to do. I am committed to seeing that through."

Just spoke with the Honorable AZ State Senator from the 5th District, Sonny Borrelli.
He has put my mind at ease about the past couple of days regarding AZ and the audit.
He informed me that The Honorable AZ State Senator Kelly Townsend has shown amazing leadership in restoring Voter Integrity to AZ.
I think letting things play out the next month or so makes sense. I'll be putting together meaningful steps of how we can help the effort.

I will be going on Frankspeech.com tonight at 7:50 p.m. central time I believe. I would like to talk about patience and fatigue when it comes to the results of the audit, along with the Supreme Court ruling. I would like to mention all of you and how amazing you all are.
Although frustrating, I choose to view this ongoing disinformation campaign against the Arizona audit as a good thing. It is evidence to me that they are actively trying to confuse the facts, so that people will not know what is true and what is false when the real facts are released. More proof they are afraid of the real facts. Here are some of the mis-truths released so far:
- 200,000 missing ballots.
Since we do not know the results yet, we don't know the number. It could be 2, it could be 200,000, it could be more. To say a definitive number is pure speculation. None of us know until the report comes out.
- The preliminary audit results would be released last Monday by Karen Fann.
She never said that, and to get your hopes up was an effort to frustate the patriots, no doubt.
- Chuck Fitzgerald, Sergeant at Arms, is deep state and purposefully not acting to get the passwords, routers, etc.
Chuck is Sergeant at Arms in the AZ House, not the Senate. He is a good man, and has zero legal ability to do anything because the audit is being done by the Senate, not the House. This attack on him is just ridiculous.
- Kelly Townsend is preventing the audit results from coming out (or has any influence on the audit).
I am not on the leadership team nor on the Judiciary committee. I do not have insider's access to the results, and I have been calling for this audit since November 5th.
As I said yesterday, I know you had your hopes up because someone put out that preliminary results were being released on Monday, which was false. I am asking for patience, as the auditors need to now compile all the info and reports.
IMPORTANT: If the Maricopa County Supervisors cooperate and give us all that we need to finish the audit, we should have results in August. If not, it will be longer.
Therefore, if you hear anything different, it is part of the disinformation campaign. I get the frustration, and am sorry you were mislead. Let's stick together on this and when the results come out, go from there.

Ok, we are back on track with the Governor's office. His chief of staff has cleared everything up and I appreciate their honesty. Let's move forward. Next step, get the Biden administration to tell us whether or not they are going to reimburse Arizona the $450 million for the National Guard if we end our emergency now. If the answer is yes then I believe the Governor feels comfortable ending the full emergency. God help us if this Delta variant narrative takes hold. Hopefully not and let's keep pushing to end the emergency ASAP.

Allen,
I am happy to provide a quote for you. My assistant is not in the office for three weeks, incidentally.
“It is important to teach our children about race using a wide angle lens and not minimizing the unsavory parts of our past. However, included in Critical Race Theory are the concepts that by the very nature of having white skin a person is inherently racist, either consciously or unconsciously. It further teaches that current individuals are responsible for the actions of generations long-since passed, and therefore ought to bear the consequence of their ancestor’s transgressions. These concepts are racist at their very core and only perpetuate the racial divide that has crept into our society. Our cultures will not heal by using this attempt to “pay back the white man” of today for the transgressions of yesterday. I am glad Arizona has taken a strong stand against this racism in our schools. It has no place in our state.”
