Should you leave your current major for this one?

This will depend on a few things:

- Is your current major one of the big three tech ones? (SWE, CS, COE) | If yes, then you should consider staying in your current major and then having a CX in either AI or cybersecurity because this is a very valid route that'll likely end you up in the same boots as someone who took the AISC major.

- Do you plan on making AI and Cybersecurity your main work field? Going into a specialized major like this one isn't like going into a more generalized major like CS or EE. Having this degree means you'll excel as a job application candidate IN this specific field. It is as if we're comparing mech eng. and Aero eng. Mech eng. is the more broad one where the degree holder will be able to work in many different areas but is not necessarily specialized in any. On the contrary, Aero eng. means you'll be a mech eng. that it is much more specialized in the field of aerospace: the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and missiles. Think of CS and AISC in the same light.

- You need to measure the risks: This is a new major; if you change to it, you'll most likely be a testing experiment. What redeems this, though, is that the university gives "somewhat" special treatment to these new majors. In a sense, they will give extra support to you (with AI and Cybersecurity courses that will be supplemental to your understanding and with care catered to ensuring you get the best education EVEN IF the program isn't really "good" or "well established" in the beginning. Overall, you need to know what you're losing vs. what you're gaining. ㅤ
