Why are Indian stocks so expensive?

Paytm trades at a P/E of around 127, Lenskart at 178, and Nykaa at 435. Meanwhile, global giants like NVIDIA, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet trade between roughly 20 and 32 P/E (Micron around 56).

This doesn’t mean one market is better than the other. Growth, business quality, and future earnings all matter. But it does show how differently Indian investors often value growth stories.

A high-quality business isn’t always a good investment if you pay too much for it.

I’ve explained this in detail, along with how Indian investors should look at US stocks and global markets. Watch the full video now.

Can petrol in a bottle send you to jail?

In India, petrol is one of the most heavily regulated commodities. From production and refining to distribution and retail sale, every stage operates under strict government regulations. Only authorised Oil Marketing Companies such as IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL are permitted to procure and distribute petrol through approved channels.

Petrol is classified as a highly flammable substance and falls under the Essential Commodities framework, which allows the government to regulate its quality, supply, and pricing. BIS standards also govern the composition of petrol sold in the country, including ethanol blending norms.

Unauthorised storage or sale of petrol, even in small quantities, can lead to legal action and seizure during inspections. Safety concerns and regulatory compliance make these rules extremely important.

Are You an Indian Citizen?

Most people think Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, or Voter ID automatically proves Indian citizenship. Legally, that's not true.

Here's what the law says:

• Aadhaar proves identity, not citizenship.
• PAN and Driving Licence are issued for tax and driving purposes.
• Voter ID allows you to vote but is not conclusive proof of citizenship.
• Citizenship is determined under the Citizenship Act, 1955.
• Those born before 1 July 1987 are generally citizens by birth.
• For those born on or after 1 July 1987, citizenship depends on the citizenship status of their parents, as provided under the law.
• For citizenship by registration or naturalisation, the official citizenship certificate is the legal proof.

Knowing the difference between an identity document and proof of citizenship can prevent legal confusion.

Your Vehicle Might Be Illegal 🚗

Bought a car? That doesn’t mean you can modify it however you want.

Under Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, major changes like body cutting, chassis changes, engine/exhaust upgrades, sunroof installation, illegal tints, crash guards, or major external modifications may need approval or may be restricted.

Basic interior upgrades like seat covers, infotainment systems, mats, etc. are generally allowed if they don’t affect safety or structure.

Changes like repainting, petrol-to-CNG conversion, or modification for specially abled use need RTO approval and record updates.

Before modifying your car, check if it’s legally allowed.

Was this fire really an accident, or was it preventable?

Many building fires are not caused by a single mistake. They result from repeated safety violations, weak enforcement, and poor compliance.

Common issues include:

• Unauthorized floors or structural changes after approval
• Parking basements converted into commercial spaces
• Poor compliance with fire exits and firefighting systems
• Delays in Fire NOCs and weak enforcement
• Non-functional extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, and evacuation systems
• Narrow access roads and illegal parking delaying rescue operations

Fire safety is not just the fire department’s responsibility. It depends on proper planning, regular inspections, and strict compliance.

Every prevented violation is a potential life saved.

Don't wait for a referral in a medical emergency. Know your ESI rights.

Every month, lakhs of employees contribute to ESI without knowing the benefits they are entitled to.

Under ESIC, employees contribute 0.75% of wages and employers contribute 3.25%, giving eligible employees access to medical and social security benefits.

Key benefits include:
• Cashless treatment at ESIC and empanelled hospitals• Hospitalisation, medicines, diagnostics, and maternity care• Sickness, disa
blement, dependants', and funeral benefits.

An important rule many people don't know:

In a genuine medical emergency, treatment should not be delayed while waiting for an ESIC referral. An insured person may take treatment at a private hospital and later apply for reimbursement from ESIC, subject to eligibility and applicable rules.

Keep all bills, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and payment receipts for the reimbursement process.

Knowing your rights can save both time and money during an emergency.Stay Jagruk.

Multiverse of IRCTC Trains

Two trains. Same route. Same 3AC coach. Yet one ticket can cost almost twice as much.

The difference isn’t just the seat. Indian Railways classifies trains based on speed, priority, comfort, and operational category.

Here's a quick breakdown:

• Vande Bharat, Vande Bharat Sleeper & Tejas – Premium trains with faster travel, modern coaches, and better amenities.
• Rajdhani, Shatabdi & Duronto – High-priority trains with quicker journeys and fewer delays.
• Superfast Express – Average speed of at least 55 km/h, making them faster than regular Mail/Express trains.
• Garib Rath – Fully AC trains offering lower fares through higher-capacity coach layouts.

So, you're not just paying for a berth. You're paying for the train's speed, priority, and overall travel experience.

Multiverse of IRCTC Trains | Part 2

Not all trains are built for the same purpose. Speed, stops, coach type, and route all decide a train’s category.

Here are a few more:

• Mail/Express – More stops than Superfast trains, connecting a wider rail network.
• Humsafar Express – Fully AC trains with upgraded amenities for long-distance travel.
• Intercity Express – Connects nearby major cities, ideal for same-day travel.
• Passenger Trains – Stop at almost every station and are an affordable option for short-distance journeys.
• MEMU & DEMU – Designed for daily commuters between cities and nearby towns.
• Railbus – A single-coach train operating on select low-density routes.
• Toy Trains – UNESCO-recognised mountain railways running through scenic hill regions.

Every train category is designed to balance speed, connectivity, affordability, and passenger demand.

Who Can Be Called a Doctor? 👀

The title “Dr.” in India is not limited to MBBS graduates. It can also be legally used by:

• MBBS (registered under NMC)
• BDS (Dentists)
• BAMS, BHMS & BUMS (AYUSH)
• PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy)

The debate isn’t about whether these qualifications can use the title it’s about how it’s used in clinical practice. While many allopathic doctors argue the prefix should be exclusive to modern medicine practitioners to avoid patient confusion, AYUSH professionals maintain that their legal recognition gives them the right to use it.

It’s a discussion about professional recognition, patient clarity, and scope of practice.

What do you think? Should every legally recognised healthcare qualification be allowed to use the title “Dr.”?

Who really owns the road?

Public roads are meant for everyone, yet VIP movements often bring traffic to a halt. In emergencies, even a few minutes of delay can be critical.

Here's what the rules say:

• MHA has issued guidelines for VIP security movements.
• As clarified by the Government in a 2016 Rajya Sabha reply, complete road blockages are generally meant only for the President, the Prime Minister, and certain foreign dignitaries.
• Even then, pedestrian movement is generally not meant to be stopped, though security checks may be carried out where necessary.

Despite these guidelines, temporary road closures for other VIP convoys are still reported in many places.

The challenge is balancing security with the convenience and safety of the public.

What do you think? Should there be stricter implementation of VIP movement guidelines?

Doctor Ban Gaye? Not Yet.

Getting an MBBS seat is one of India's toughest academic achievements, but it's only the beginning.

Here's the journey:

• Clear NEET UG and complete 5.5 years of MBBS, including internship.
• After MBBS, doctors can practice as general physicians, but many prepare for NEET PG or INI-CET to pursue MD/MS.
• MD is for non-surgical specialities, while MS is for surgical branches.
• Those aiming for super-specialisation must clear NEET SS or INI SS to pursue DM or MCh.

Becoming a super-specialist often takes 11–12 years of education, training, and multiple competitive exams.

Behind every specialist is years of hard work, long hours, and continuous learning.

PM-WANI promises an income opportunity. Scammers see one too.

The PM-WANI scheme allows individuals and small businesses to become Public Data Offices (PDOs) and earn by offering paid public Wi-Fi.

Here's how it works:

• PDOs install broadband and provide public Wi-Fi.
• PDOAs help with setup and network management.
• Users connect through PM-WANI-compatible apps. There is no single official PM-WANI app.
• PDOs earn based on customer usage.

But scammers are exploiting the scheme by sending fake emails asking for router installation or activation charges after registration.

Before making any payment:

• Verify that emails and websites use an official .gov.in domain.
• Never pay based only on unsolicited emails or messages.
• Cross-check instructions through the official PM-WANI portal.

Every new government scheme creates opportunities, but also new scams.

₹100 Interest Per Day... from the bank?

A wrong entry in your credit report can sometimes entitle you to compensation.

Here's what you should know:

• Banks report your loan history to credit bureaus like CIBIL, Experian, Equifax, and CRIF High Mark.
• If you spot an error, raise a written complaint with the bank through email.
• If the bank doesn't correct it within 30 days, RBI's framework may require it to pay ₹100 per day until the error is rectified.
• The correction should be updated across all affected credit bureaus.
• If the issue remains unresolved, you can escalate it to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman.

Regularly checking your credit report helps identify errors before they affect future loan approvals.

Know your rights before paying for a bank's mistake.

A ₹126 Crore Scam

Government procurement is meant to be competitive so taxpayer money gets the best value. That's why the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) allows OEMs and authorised resellers to compete through independent bids.

But in a recent case, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) found that multiple authorised resellers allegedly coordinated their bids instead of competing, creating a cartel that could have inflated prices paid by government departments.

One company approached the CCI under its Leniency Programme and cooperated with the investigation. However, since it was found to have played a central role in the arrangement, the CCI still imposed a ₹126 crore penalty and directed the companies to stop such anti-competitive practices.

Healthy competition saves public money. Cartels do the opposite.

Can you guess which laptop and printer company was involved?

Don't file your ITR without checking these 3 documents.

Before filing your Income Tax Return, make sure your details match the Income Tax Department's records. Small mismatches can lead to notices or delayed refunds.

Check these documents first:

• AIS (Annual Information Statement): Shows salary, interest, dividends, mutual funds, shares, rent, and other financial transactions linked to your PAN.
• TIS (Taxpayer Information Summary): A simplified summary of your AIS with consolidated figures.
• Form 26AS: Displays TDS, TCS, advance tax, self-assessment tax, and other tax credits.

All three are available free on the Income Tax e-filing portal.

Before submitting your ITR, cross-check these records with your salary, interest income, investments, and capital gains.

A few minutes of verification can help avoid notices and refund delays.

Block This Bank Number Immediately!

Scammers now use your personal details to make fake bank calls look genuine.

A common scam works like this:

• You receive a call claiming your new credit card has been delivered.
• You're told a verification call will come from your bank's official helpline.
• The next call may even display your bank's customer care number using caller ID spoofing.
• You're asked to share an OTP to activate the card or complete KYC.
• Sharing that OTP can allow fraudsters to access your account or complete transactions.

One important update: RBI has introduced dedicated numbering norms, and genuine banking service calls are expected to come from numbers starting with 1600. Even then, no bank will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV, or password over a phone call.

Share this with your family and friends. It could save someone from a major banking scam.
