Why does the market feel more active in March?

As the financial year ends, investors don’t just review returns they plan their taxes too.

This is when many investors book losses on purpose. A stock in red is sold to realize the loss and often bought back again. The investment stays, but the loss becomes useful it can offset profits made elsewhere.

For example:
₹5L gain – ₹4L loss = only ₹1L taxable

This strategy, called capital loss harvesting, is why market activity increases in March.

It’s not panic. It’s planning.

Save up to ₹15,625 in Tax

Before the financial year ends, check your long-term capital gains (LTCG).

On stocks and equity mutual funds, LTCG is taxed at 12.5%, but the first ₹1,25,000 is tax-free. If your gains are within this limit, you can book profits without paying tax.

Example: Bought at ₹100, now ₹500 → ₹400 gain.
Sell, book profit, and even buy again to reset your purchase price and reduce future tax.

This is called tax harvesting using the tax-free limit smartly every year.

Just calculate gains carefully and factor in charges before acting. Join our Capital Gain Master Class for more practical concepts on CG. LINK: cg.lla.in

Stop! Canceling your train ticket just got more expensive.

Indian Railways has updated its ticket cancellation and refund rules, which can directly impact your money if you’re not careful. These stricter norms aim to prevent bulk bookings by agents and ensure seats go to genuine passengers.

New deduction rules:
• Full refund only if cancelled 72 hours before departure (earlier 48 hours)
• 25% deduction if cancelled 72 to 24 hours before
• 50% deduction if cancelled 24 to 8 hours before
• No refund if cancelled within 8 hours

One positive change: You can now change your boarding station digitally up to 30 minutes before departure, instead of before chart preparation.

Save this for your next trip so you don’t lose money.

Healthcare can save lives… but also drain your savings.

In private hospitals, you’re not just paying for treatment you’re paying for infrastructure, tech, staff, and brand value. Add investor pressure, and pricing becomes even more complex.

That’s why fixing the entire system overnight isn’t easy.

But one area needs urgent attention: Emergency care

In emergencies, you can’t compare prices. You go to the nearest hospital and within minutes, basic checks can lead to high bills, even for minor issues.

This is where fair rules are needed.
Emergency rooms shouldn’t charge a premium just because they can.

We may not fix everything at once, but small, critical regulations can make a real difference.

Share this if you believe emergency healthcare needs stricter pricing rules.

Doctor’s Prescription Looks Confusing? Here’s a Simple
Trick

Even if the handwriting is messy, medicine names follow patterns. The last few letters (suffixes) often reveal what the drug does.

Examples:
-caine → local anaesthetics (numbing)
-olol → blood pressure medicines
-profen / -fenac → painkillers
-prazole → acidity/gas relief
-nazole → fungal infections
-dazole → worms & parasites

These small patterns can help you better understand what you’re taking.

Save this for later and share it with someone who struggles to read prescriptions.

Biometric device for attendance

This is a new policy and details are still being explored. Treat this as general information and verify from official sourcesbefore taking any decision.

Laws exist… but do they actually work?

Many serious issues online are already illegal content that harms dignity or promotes violence is clearly defined in law. Yet, it continues to exist openly.

The real problem is not always new laws, but enforcement of existing ones. When even voices within the system admit gaps, it raises a bigger question is the system struggling to keep up?

A country cannot rely only on rules on paper. Without proper implementation, even strong laws lose meaning.

This is about accountability and action.

What do you think is the real issue lack of laws or lack of enforcement?

“Just say no” sounds easy… reality isn’t.

The issue isn’t just addiction, it’s accessibility. Rules say liquor shops shouldn’t be visible or directly accessible from highways, yet ground reality often says otherwise.

This shows the real gap law vs enforcement.

After incidents, action is taken, but often in the wrong direction. Awareness campaigns look good, but without accountability, behaviour doesn’t change.

This isn’t about one case it’s a larger pattern.
Rules exist, but weak enforcement keeps repeating the problem.

If the law already exists, why isn’t it followed?

Watch this before planning your vacation

Planning a Leh trip and getting stopped at the border happens more often than you think.

The issue isn’t planning, it’s lack of awareness. Many places in India require permits:

Inner Line Permit (ILP): Needed even for Indians (Arunachal, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Sikkim, Ladakh – Pangong, Nubra, Turtuk, Tso Moriri)
Protected Area Permit (PAP): For foreigners in sensitive border areas
Restricted Area Permit (RAP): For foreigners in highly restricted zones (Andaman Nicobar, parts of Sikkim)

Lakshadweep: Even Indians need a special entry permit.

Know the rules before you travel, or your trip can get ruined.

History was just made in the Indian art world.

Dr. Cyrus S. Poonawalla has acquired Raja Ravi Varma’s “Yashoda and Krishna” for ₹167.2 crore, making it the most expensive modern Indian artwork ever sold at auction.

Beyond its cultural value, fine art is often seen as a diversified asset by the ultra-wealthy, offering portfolio diversification, potential tax advantages, and long-term appreciation.

Poonawalla has said this “national treasure” will be made available for public viewing, keeping its legacy accessible.

Is this an investment in culture or a smart financial move?

When expenses exceed income, even countries feel it.

Fiscal deficit simply means the government is spending more than it earns, and the gap is filled through borrowing (bonds with interest).

If this keeps rising, it can lead to higher inflation, more debt, and future tax pressure. Printing money isn’t a real solution either it reduces the value of money and increases prices.

The simplest fix? Stronger revenue through taxes → less dependence on borrowing.

So what would you prefer pay slightly more taxes now or face rising prices later?

Why do medicine names sound confusing? They follow a pattern.

Antibiotic names aren’t random they carry clues:

“cillin” → Penicillin group (breaks bacterial wall)
“cef/ceph” → Cephalosporins (advanced version)
“thromycin” → Stops protein production in bacteria
“mycin” → Different category (don’t confuse)
“floxacin” → Attacks bacterial DNA (UTI, eye infections)
“cycline” → Used for acne, malaria prevention

Understanding these patterns helps, but never replace a doctor’s advice.

Save this and share with someone who finds medicine names confusing.

Did you see this clip in Dhurandhar?

Names change, characters are tweaked but some real references stay, and that’s not random. It depends on how films are reviewed before release.

In India, films go through the CBFC, which can suggest cuts or even stop releases if content is sensitive. Some films face strict action, while others pass easily raising questions about influence.

Though officially independent, the board is government-appointed, shaping what finally reaches us.

What we watch isn’t just a story it’s a filtered version.

Traveling abroad without insurance can cost more than the trip itself.

Most people realise this only when something goes wrong and medical care abroad turns out to be expensive. That’s why travel insurance is essential.

Get adequate medical cover based on your destination, include emergency evacuation, and choose low or zero deductibles.

Don’t ignore personal liability, and always check exclusions like pre-existing conditions.

Also ensure coverage for delays, cancellations, and lost documents.

Compare policies before your trip and choose wisely. Save or share this with someone planning to travel.

Justice shouldn’t depend on power.

An 18-year-old in Dehradun lost his life in a dumper accident. FIR was delayed, filed against an “unknown vehicle,” and the case saw no progress for months.

His mother did what the system didn’t tracked clues, checked CCTV, followed leads for over a year, and finally identified the vehicle and truth.

Now, the case is reopening.

This isn’t just one story. It questions why justice gets harder without influence.

Insurance claim rejected? It’s not the end.

Many people think rejection means game over. Not true. Cases have been won later when rejections were unjustified.

Big myth: non-disclosure. A small issue like BP found later doesn’t automatically justify rejection. Under Section 45 of the Insurance Act, after 3 years, claims can only be denied for fraud or intentional hiding of serious illness, not minor or unintentional gaps.

What to do next:
• Ask insurer for written reason
• File complaint on IRDAI I-GEMS portal
• Approach Insurance Ombudsman
• Then consumer court if needed

A rejection is just the start of a process most people don’t know.

That certificate before a movie isn’t just a formality.

Every film in India is cleared by the CBFC before release. That opening screen reveals key details:

U – Suitable for all
UA – Parental guidance (now 7+, 13+, 16+)
A – Adults only

A small triangle mark means cuts/edits were made. Some films can even be denied release if too sensitive.

Earlier, filmmakers could challenge decisions through a tribunal, but that option no longer exists.

There’s also a rare “S” category meant only for specific professionals like doctors or scientists, used just once in India.

Next time you see that certificate, remember it decides what reaches you.

One state’s decision shook another.

Minimum wage is meant to be a safety net, but rising costs have made it feel inadequate.

For years, wages in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh moved slowly. Then protests erupted as workers struggled with expenses. Haryana responded with a ~35% hike, and soon after, pressure led Uttar Pradesh to increase wages by ~21%.

This shows how connected labour markets are one state’s move quickly impacts others.

But there’s another side. Sudden hikes can disrupt business costs, payroll planning, and cash flow.

The real issue isn’t just higher wages, but how and when changes are made. Gradual revisions could reduce both worker stress and business shock.

What’s your take on this?
