"Doctors treating patients in Gaza have accused Israel of using experimental weapons on Palestinian civilians.

DIME munitions were developed by the US Air Force in 2006 and have since been tested repeatedly on the people of 🇵🇸 Gaza, who have long served as involuntary lab rats for Israel’s weapons industry.

DIME bombs contain tungsten, a cancer-causing metal that helps to produce incredibly destructive blasts which slice through flesh and bone, often decapitating the lower limbs of people within the blast radius.

Renowned Norwegian doctor @DrMadsGilbert, who witnessed the horrific injuries caused by DIME bombs during Israel’s 2009 Gaza onslaught, told The Electronic Intifada over the phone from al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City that patients are showing up with DIME-related injuries.

“A good number of the injuries seen here are consistent with the use of dense inert metal explosives, or DIME, that we saw during the 2009 attack and also in 2006,” said Gilbert. “

"The bodies are pretty much destroyed by enormous energy released by the explosives that are shot near them or at them.”

Gilbert first witnessed the effects of DIME munitions on the human body during Operation Summer Rains, Israel’s 2006 months-long attack on the Gaza Strip that killed more than four hundred Palestinians.

“Large chunks of flesh, of muscles were cut away. We didn’t find any shrapnel and [the wounds] were delivering a strange fume.

Gradually we came to understand these must have been the new DIME weapons developed by the US Air Force together with the Israelis,” he said.

The experimental weapon was used on a larger scale during Operation Cast Lead, Israel’s attack on Gaza in late 2008 and early 2009, which killed 1,400 Palestinians, including 352 children.

In 2012, Dr. Gilbert addressed the US role in Israel's 2008 'Operation Cast Lead,' the use of illegal weapons on a civilian population and the ethics of weapons' sales to countries that have used or tested weapons illegally.

Mads Gilbert is a renowned Norwegian Physician long known for his studies on children and infants in time of war.

He received his PhD at the University of Iowa, is a specialist in anesthesiology and a leader of the Emergency Medicine Department at the University of Tromso in Norway since 1995.

In addition to his research and practice at Tromso hospital in Norway, Dr. Gilbert co-founded NORWAC, a Norwegian-Palestinian humanitarian aid organization.

He worked in an underground Palestinian refugee camp hospital in Beirut during the 1982 Israeli invasion and bombardment of Lebanon and again in Beirut during the Summer 2006 Israeli war against Lebanon.

He and his colleague, Dr. Erik Fosse, were two of only a small handful of westerners in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead from Dec. 27th 2008 to January 18th, 2009. Both testified as expert witnesses at subsequent Human Rights Committee Sessions held at the United Nations in Geneva after the attack.

💢 REPORT: Israel says it struck officers at checkpoints across Tehran as Iranian authorities urge citizens not to cede the streets

Israel says its air force has been targeting Basij militia checkpoints and officers across Tehran after claiming it observed units setting up roadblocks at multiple locations across the capital, according to an Israeli military statement.

Israel said it intends to continue the strikes to “damage the Iranian regime’s core systems and foundations.”

Iranian state media reported that at least 10 officers were killed in drone strikes across Tehran over the past day, though they did not specify which security units they belonged to.

The Basij, a paramilitary force affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is often used for internal security.

Iranian IRGC-affiliated Fars News says the strikes are aimed at weakening internal security and triggering unrest inside the country while US-Israeli military attacks continue.

Fars wrote that the goal of the attacks is to “create conditions for the entry of rioters … and armed riots simultaneously with a foreign invasion,” part of what it described as a U.S. and Israeli “authority-undermining and destabilization project with high-intensity field violence.”

The outlet argued that empty streets would create space for sabotage, riots, or infiltrators during the attacks, warning that “if the streets are emptied today, the enemy will undoubtedly achieve its goal, namely armed chaos.”

It added that “this is precisely why officials are loudly urging the people: street, street, street.”

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei appeared to echo that call, urging citizens to maintain an “effective presence on the scene” in his first public comments as the leader of Iran’s Rvolution.

He encouraged continued civic participation and stressed the need to preserve social unity.

📹 Queues form to volunteer for checkpoints in Iran after Israeli strikes

After Israel bombed Basij and police checkpoints across Tehran, killing officers, and continue to systematically target police and security infrastructure across Iran, residents were filmed lining up to volunteer to man new checkpoints.

🗣 State-affiliated Fars News shared what it said was a video circulating on social media, and said it had the following caption:

“In our neighborhood it was announced there was a need to increase checkpoints, there was a need for popular forces; half an hour later, this queue had formed.”
