MFA leads ECOSOC rejection of Shahed organization request to obtain UN observer status:

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) overwhelmingly rejected the request of the Palestinian-Lebanese organization Shahed to obtain the status of an observer organization in UN institutions.

The resolution, initiated by the Israeli delegation to the United Nations against the granting of status, was adopted by an overwhelming majority of the members of the UN Economic and Social Council.

Shahed is a Palestinian organization based in Lebanon that claims to deal with human rights and humanitarian issues, but in practice is an organization that Israel has declared a terrorist organization and in fact operates as an arm of the Hamas terror organization in Lebanon.

Israel will continue to be vigilant and will continue to act against terrorist organizations that intend it harm.

The Iranian regime continues to deceive the international community and to develop military nuclear capabilities.

Iran's actions are a source of grave concern for the region and beyond.

As millions around the world celebrate pride month, Iran takes pride in executing members of the LGBTQ community.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif recently cited "moral principles" as justifying his regime's violent actions against LGBTQ members.

Do "moral principles" also guide Iran's state sponsored terrorism around the world and their numerous human rights violations? Iran's brutality must be stopped.

One of Iran's primary proxy terrorist organizations, Hezbollah, has been carrying out dangerous illegal activity across Europe; From drug trafficking to money laundering to terror attacks, Hezbollah will not stop carrying out its terrorist operations throughout the continent unless more measures are taken against it.

The UK has decided to expand its designation of Hezbollah as a whole, rather than just its military wing, to curb and hinder Hezbollah's operations on its soil.

The EU should follow-suit, to combat this Iranian-backed terrorist activity in the European continent.
