๐Ÿ“„ Security in Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman must be for all or none: IRGC

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ Iranโ€™s Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has emphasized that the security of ports in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman must either belong to everyone or to no one, reiterating the Islamic Republicโ€™s firm stance on regional maritime safety.

Spokesperson for Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari said on Monday that the Iranian Armed Forces consider the defense of the countryโ€™s legal rights a natural duty. He noted that Tehran views the exercise of sovereignty within its territorial waters as an inherent right of the Iranian nation.
โ€‹
Zolfaghari added that, based on this principle, Iranian forces are determined to continue securing the countryโ€™s territorial waters.
โ€‹
He reiterated earlier statements that vessels belonging to enemy forces are not permitted to transit the Strait of Hormuz, while other ships may continue passage as long as they comply with the Iranian Armed Forcesโ€™ regulations.
โ€‹
The spokesperson also said that, given ongoing threats against Iranโ€™s national security even after the cessation of recent hostilities, the country intends to maintain a permanent mechanism for overseeing the Strait of Hormuz.
โ€‹
He argued that recent restrictions imposed by the United States on international maritime movement are unlawful and amount to piracy.
โ€‹
Zolfaghari concluded that if the security of Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf or the Sea of Oman is endangered, no port in the region will remain safe.
โ€‹
Following the joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran on February 28, 2026, the Islamic Republic carried out retaliatory attacks and restricted the Strait of Hormuz to vessels it identified as hostile.

๐Ÿ”Š Iran reports massive environmental damage from US-Israeli war

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNAโ€“ The Department of Environment has released a report on the environmental damage caused by the US-Israeli aggression on Iran, warning that the scale of destruction in some cases came close to threatening the countryโ€™s habitability.

The detailed report, released on Monday, outlines impacts in four key areas, including industrial infrastructure, buildings, protected ecosystems, and major oil storage sites.
โ€‹
Attacks targeting key production, industrial, and service units in 10 provinces, namely East Azarbaijan, Alborz, Bushehr, Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, Khuzestan, Markazi, Yazd, Gilan, and Fars, resulted in environmental damage ranging from low to severe, the report said.
โ€‹
It also said environmental protection offices and facilities in multiple provinces were hit, with damage recorded across 20 counties. In one notable case, the Natural History and Biodiversity Museum in Karaj sustained heavy destruction, according to the report.
โ€‹
Some 13 protected areas including coastal zones, wetlands, and wildlife reserves in seven provinces, namely Hormuzgan, Markazi, Sistan-and-Baluchestan, Fars, Kurdistan, Alborz, and Tehran, suffered varying levels of damageโ€”from minor to very severe, it said.
โ€‹
A major source of pollution stemmed from fires at oil storage facilities in Tehran Province, where more than 360,000 cubic meters of fuel burned, according to the report which said the incidents resulted in nearly one million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, along with around 4,000 tons of hazardous volatile compounds.
โ€‹
Separate attacks on fuel tanks in Alborz Province released an additional 53,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
โ€‹
The Department of Environment said it is compiling documentation to pursue the case through international bodies.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Envoy: Islamabad Talks is โ€˜not an event but a processโ€™

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ Iranโ€™s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri-Moghaddam has described the recent round of talks between Iran and the United States which was mediated by Islamabad as a process which can create a sustainable framework for the interests of all parties.

โ€œThe Islamabad Talks laid the foundation for a diplomatic process that, if trust and will are strengthened, can create a sustainable framework for the interests of all parties,โ€ Amiri-Moghaddam wrote on his X account on Sunday.
โ€‹
โ€œI would like to express my gratitude to the friendly and brotherly county of Pakistan, especially H.E. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their initiative of goodwill and good office for the talks,โ€ he added.
โ€‹
โ€œWith the tireless efforts of all sectors in Pakistan, including the government, army, police and security forces to facilitate and manage the talks, talks were held in a dignified and befitting atmosphere for the guests in a calm, orderly and secure environment with equal logistic opportunities for both sides,โ€ he stated.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Trumpโ€™s admission to arming rioters a proof of violating sovereignty of independent nations: Iranโ€™s Rights Council

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ Iranโ€™s High Council for Human Rights (HCHR) has described the explicit public admission of US President Donald regarding the direct shipment of weapons to rioters in Iran during the events of January this year, calling it a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter.

In a statement on Monday, the HCHR office noted that Trumpโ€™s acknowledgement exposes false US slogans of defending human rights and democracy, as well as proves its intent of assassination, destruction, and violation of the sovereignty of independent nations.
โ€‹
โ€œWe sent guns to protesters. We sent them a lot of guns ...โ€, the statement quoted Trump during an interview with Fox News, saying it revealed not only the true face of Americaโ€™s interventionist policies towards Iran but also proved the planned, organized, and armed nature of the riots.
โ€‹
With strong condemnation and disgust, the HCHR said the US action, with the aim of overthrowing a government or causing unrest in another country, violated Article 2 of the UN Charter, which prohibits all members from threatening or using force against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country.
โ€‹
The statement also cited the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights that prohibit delivery of weapons, especially through separatist groups that could lead to the erosion of national security, chaos, destruction of public and private property, and loss of innocent lives.
โ€‹
Calling the Trumpโ€™s confession yet another political and legal scandal for the US government in recent decades, Iranโ€™s High Council for Human Rights said it will be a basis to file legal and criminal complaints against the US president and the government.
โ€‹
Iran, while preserving its right to pursue this crime through all international venues, warns the US and all accomplice governments that it will never back down from seeking justice, combating state terrorism, and illegal interventions, the statement said.

๐Ÿ“ก Iran first VP praises Spainโ€™s stance on US-Israel aggression on Iran

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€” Iran First Vice President highlighted the necessity of standing firm against aggression and expressed his appreciation for the positions taken by the Spanish government and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

โ€œWe salute all who have courageously stood against aggression and atrocities, particularly the humanitarian stance of Prime Minister Pedro Sรกnchez. The world must distinguish between the aggressor and the defender,โ€ Mohammad Reza Aref said in a message on his X account.
โ€‹
โ€œBased on the UN Charter, Iran seeks nothing beyond its legal rights and the defense of its national security against any encroachment and state terrorism,โ€ Iran first vice-president further stated.
โ€‹
Giving a speech in Spain parliament earlier in March, Prime Minister Pedro Sรกnchez warned that the Iran war represents a "far worse" scenario than the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
โ€‹
"This is not the same scenario as the illegal war in Iraq. We are facing something far worse. Much worse. With a potential impact that is far broader and far deeper," he told parliament.
โ€‹
"This time, it's an absurd and illegal war. A cruel one that sets us back from achieving our economic, social and environmental goals."

๐Ÿ“ก China blames US warmongering policies for insecurity in Strait of Hormuz

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA - Chinaโ€™s foreign ministry spokesperson reiterated that the root cause of disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz lies in the war imposed on Iran, and the way to resolve this issue is to achieve a ceasefire and end hostilities as soon as possible.

โ€œAll parties should remain calm and exercise restraint. China stands ready to continue playing a positive and constructive roleโ€, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday when asked to comment on US President Donald Trump's order on Sunday that the US Navy would start blockading the Strait of Hormuz, and China's view on security in the Strait and related energy issues.
โ€‹
According to Chinaโ€™s English language paper โ€˜Global Timesโ€™, Guo added that the Strait of Hormuz is a vital route for international trade in goods and energy. Maintaining security, stability, and unimpeded passage in the region serves the common interests of the international community.
โ€‹
In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, US President Donald Trump raised the possibility of blockading the Strait of Hormuz, warning that if negotiations fail, more severe options against Iran will be put on the agenda.

๐Ÿ”Š Iran ready for talks but only based on โ€˜principles and logic,โ€™ Judiciary chief says

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei has expressed Iranโ€™s readiness for negotiations and reaching an agreement, but only based on โ€œprinciples and logicโ€.

Ejei made the remarks during a session of the Supreme Council of Judiciary on Monday, discussing the current situation in Iran and the unsuccessful objectives of adversaries in both military and diplomatic arenas following 40 days of the US-Israeli war of aggression.
โ€‹
He said that the Americans, displaying their typical arrogance and haughtiness, approached the Pakistani-mediated talks in Islamabad on April 11 with their usual negotiating strategy, which involves imposing false statements and trying to obtain from the negotiation table what they could not achieve in the 40-day war.
โ€‹
The Iranian delegation, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, effectively defended the legitimate rights of the Iranian nation and the achievements on the battlefield, Ejei said, adding that the Iranian delegation successfully countered the greedy and arrogant Americans, just as they had been defeated during the 40-day battlefield.
โ€‹
The Judiciary chief emphasized that protecting and preserving the achievements of the third defensive war is a priority for everyone, including diplomats, members of the executive branch, and officials in the Judiciary and legislative bodies.
โ€‹
All Iranians are protectors of the rights and achievements of the battlefield and the brave military personnel, he stressed.
โ€‹
Ejei emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity, stating that the Iranian nation remains united and cohesive, follows Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, and is present in the field to provide comprehensive support to the Armed Forces.
โ€‹
The Judiciary chief also warned that the finger of Iranโ€™s military forces is on the trigger, emphasizing that due to the temporary ceasefire, there has been no slackness or pause among the brave military servicemen.

๐Ÿ”ป National resilience shattered enemies' dream of Iran collapse: Pezeshkian

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the enemies' hostile strategies have failed in the recent war, and their assumption that the country would collapse quickly was shattered by the resilience and steadfastness of the Iranian nation.

During a meeting on Monday, Pezeshkian addressed the war imposed on the Iranian nation by the United States and the Zionist regime, emphasizing that the Islamic Republicโ€™s resilience, grounded in international laws and regulations, stems from its defensive strength and commitment to protecting national interests.
โ€‹
He added, โ€œThe Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek to infringe on the rights of other nations, but it will act decisively and resolutely in defending the undeniable rights of the Iranian people.โ€
โ€‹
Pezeshkian also sharply criticized the dual approach of certain so-called human rights bodies and their affiliated media, pointing out that the silence of these bodies in response to egregious actsโ€”such as attacks on civilian sites, schools, medical centers, and relief institutions by the United States and the Zionist regimeโ€”, along with their biased positions on Iranโ€™s domestic issues, exemplifies double standards and irresponsibility.
โ€‹
The president highlighted the failure of the enemiesโ€™ hostile strategies, stating, โ€œTheir assumption that the country would quickly collapse has been thwarted by the resistance and perseverance of the Iranian nation over the past forty-plus days. The threat to target our infrastructure reveals their desperation and inability to impose their will.โ€
โ€‹
While expressing appreciation for the sacrifices and dedication of the armed forces, he emphasized, โ€œThe Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on its defensive capabilities and national unity, will continue to progress with strength and will further reinforce the nationโ€™s dignity and honor.โ€
โ€‹
On February 28, following the assassination of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several military commanders, the US and Israeli regimes initiated a sweeping military campaign against Iran.
โ€‹
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces executed a series of counterattacks over a span of 40 days, targeting American and Israeli military installations in the region and demonstrating their combat capabilities. Contrary to the expectations of a swift victory, the Iranian retaliations caused considerable damage to US and Israeli assets, prolonging the conflict and escalating tensions in the region.
โ€‹
In an attempt to ease hostilities, a two-week ceasefire was brokered on April 8, allowing for mediated negotiations to take place in Islamabad. Iran presented a ten-point plan during these discussions, which called for the withdrawal of US troops, the lifting of sanctions, and control over the key Strait of Hormuz. Despite engaging in 21 hours of intense talks with US negotiators in Pakistan, the Iranian delegation returned to Tehran without reaching an agreement, citing a lack of trust and excessive demands by the US.

๐ŸŒ Iran UN Envoy: Maritime blockade โ€˜grave violationโ€™ of Iranโ€™s sovereignty

๐Ÿ“Œ New York, IRNA โ€“ Iranโ€™s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, says that the imposition of a maritime blockade constitutes a grave violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iravani made the remarks in a letter to the UN secretary-general and the UN Security Council president on Monday, saying that the imposition of a maritime blockade amounts to a flagrant breach of the prohibition on the threat or use of force enshrined in Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations and constitutes a clear act of aggression under international law.
โ€‹
On 12 April 2026, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) publicly declared that US forces would begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports pursuant to a presidential proclamation.
โ€‹
The following is the full text of Iravaniโ€™s letter:
โ€‹
Upon instructions from my Government, I am writing to bring to your urgent attention, and to that of the members of the Security Council, the continued internationally wrongful acts of the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran. On 12 April 2026, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) publicly declared that U.S. forces would begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports pursuant to a presidential proclamation.
โ€‹
The imposition of a maritime blockade constitutes a grave violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It amounts to a flagrant breach of the prohibition on the threat or use of force enshrined in Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations and constitutes a clear act of aggression under international law. Furthermore, this unlawful measure constitutes a serious violation of the fundamental principles of the international law of the sea. By seeking to obstruct maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports, the United States unlawfully interferes with the exercise of the sovereign rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran and infringes upon the rights of third States and lawful maritime commerce under international law.
โ€‹
The Islamic Republic of Iran unequivocally rejects and condemns the unlawful act of the United States in the strongest possible terms. It will exercise its inherent right to take all necessary and proportionate measures, in accordance with international law, to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests. The United States bears full responsibility for this internationally wrongful act and for any consequences arising therefrom, including its impact on regional and international peace and security.
โ€‹
Given that this unlawful action poses a grave threat to international peace and security and obviously exacerbates the risk of escalation in an already highly volatile region, the Islamic Republic of Iran calls upon the Secretary-General and the Security Council to discharge their responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations by unequivocally condemning this unlawful measure, taking urgent and effective steps to prevent further escalation with potentially catastrophic consequences for regional and international peace and security, and urging the United States to put an immediate end to its internationally wrongful acts against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Iran demands compensation from five regional countries over war damage

๐Ÿ“Œ New York, IRNA โ€“ Iranโ€™s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has demanded compensation from five regional countries over damage incurred during the war against Iran, imposed by the US and Israeli regime.

Iravani made the remarks in a letter to the UN secretary-general and the UN Security Council president on Monday, saying that the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have breached their international obligations owed to the Islamic Republic of Iran under international law, thereby engaging their international responsibility.
โ€‹
He added that those five countries should make full reparation to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including compensation for all material and moral damage sustained as a result of their internationally wrongful acts.
โ€‹
The following is the full text of Iravaniโ€™s letter:
โ€‹
Upon instructions from my Government, and in response to the letters dated 29 and 30 March 2026 and 8 April 2026 from the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2026/244, S/2026/258 and S/2026/304); the letters dated 2 and 6 April 2026 and 10 April 2026 from the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2026/283, S/2026/294 and S/2026/317); the letters dated 30 March 2026 and 6 and 7 April 2026 from the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2026/254, S/2026/295, S/2026/296 and S/2026/299); the letter dated 31 March 2026 from the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2026/271); and the letter dated 1 April 2026 from the Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2026/275), I wish to draw the attention of Your Excellency and the members of the Security Council to the following:
โ€‹
1. Contrary to the claimants' general refutation of the legal arguments and factual evidence, the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided the Security Council with documented and evidentiary information regarding not only the use of the territories of the aforesaid States by the aggressors, but also, in some instances, their direct involvement in the commission of unlawful armed attacks targeting civilian objects in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The said evidence is based on monitoring and assessments conducted by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
โ€‹
2. The legal position of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the unjustified Security Council resolution 2817 (2026) has been communicated to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council in a letter dated 18 March 2026, which has been issued as a document of the General Assembly and the Security Council (A/80/680โ€“S/2026/20). In that communication, it was expounded that resolution 2817 (2026) was adopted in a manner that is manifestly unjust, legally untenable, and fundamentally divorced from the factual and legal realities of the situation.
โ€‹
3. It is recalled that, on 28 February 2026, the Islamic Republic of Iran was subjected to a flagrant act of aggression carried out jointly by the United States and the Israeli regime, in clear violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. Since . . .
