The Post- Webinar Summary Report
On December 21st 2020, the Iranian Chapter of International Geosynthetics Society conducted a three-hour technical webinar entitled “Interactions between Geosynthetic‐Reinforced Fill Walls and Laterally‐Loaded Piles”. In this webinar, Prof. Jie HAN from University of Kansas, USA, was the keynote speaker, presenting cutting-edge knowledge in the field of geosynthetics. At the end of the lecture, we have 30-minute question and answer session in which the attendees shared suggestions, thoughts, and opinions with each other around the matter. It was a great opportunity to have 250 participants from 12 countries, notably Iraq, India, Turkey, Netherland, UK, France, USA, Canada, and Iran in this webinar. Broadly speaking and based on the online survey, 91 percent of the participants enjoyed the webinar so much so that they would like to participate in our next technical webinars.
We are sincerely appreciate Prof. Jie HAN, International Geosynthetic Socity, all the IGS’s Chapters, manufacturers, companies, and universities for great supports financially and spiritually. The overarching value of their cooperation cannot be overstressed.
In the age of industrial revolution, exploiting nature, we are in stake. Therefore, the debate over reducing our environmental footprint is timely and crucial. So, sharing our experience and knowledge is one of the best, if not the best, way to save the world. In this regard, Iranian chapter decided to organize a few sequential webinars. Now, we are organizing another technical webinar which will be possibly held in March, 2021. The news of the webinar will be announced as soon as the required infrastructures are formed.
