' Healing requires a person to integrate their experiences. And, in trauma recovery, although we don’t necessarily need to rehash the events, or recall what’s been blocked out, it’s empowering and healing to be able to put to words in a matter of fact way what happened, to move from denial to acceptance and finally into reclaiming our wholeness and creating a new and gentle loving lifestyle.
    It was accurate because it simply communicated that I really did live in a car while working full time a job that forced me to go where the money was available. I very literally lived and worked in traffic and was completely marginalized almost everywhere in the country, only able to function as a driving and delivery robot. I had no social opportunity besides Rainbow Family, other drivers I met, and various classes and races of people who were marginalized in similar or vastly different ways than I was. I was forced to live on the fringe of the fringe.
    Weird because my experience is not what most would think of when their mind responds to the phrase “human trafficking.” I have been working with others in the Intuitive Public Radio network who have experienced and been privy to much different but more easily recognizable as “trafficking” scenarios. And there have been plenty of times when I have felt an almost “imposter syndrome,” as though, how could I use such a term as “trafficked” if I’d never been forced to have sex with paying strangers, or do adult live streaming video, or participate in or witness acts of violence? I just delivered food, after all. But then I remember... oh yeah...
    I fell into a trafficking funnel with no face, no boss, no pimp, no sordidity. One that forced me to be completely reliant on it, and to drive for many hours over great distances for a chance at a dollar. The longer I did it, the deeper I got. I’d sometimes have to “pay myself” the 6 total times per day allowed, and lose $4.50 doing it, just to keep the car running. I sometimes ate nothing but fast food from those survey coupons they give you for weeks. I was constantly on my phone responding to pings. My cortisol and neurological stress was off the charts.
    That’s all besides the homeless living in my car thing. I won’t continue here, but let’s say this: I was trafficked across the USA as “food delivery overflow floater.”
    It feels a bit strange. Not “like” but “actually” I’ve been a part of this network for over a year and I’m “just waking up that I was a human trafficking victim.” '

The most important thing is to breathe consciously, completely, continuingly, with presence and kindness for your body.
If you notice yourself not having been doing that, that is the crucial and possibly only place to put your attention.
Do this before doing anything else. Do this while you do anything else.
This is required in order that any other solution may succeed.
