In the preface to the Japanese edition of The Seven Storey Mountain, 20 years since writing it and two years before his death at a conference of monks in Bangkok, Thomas Merton says: "Perhaps if I were to attempt this book today, it would be written differently. I seek to speak to you, in some way, as your own self. Who can tell what this may mean? I myself do not know, but if you listen, things will be said that are perhaps not written in this book. We are being physically harmed by known, active trafficking operations in our location. Others also. My body may die. 

We have tried without success to reach many people in many communities regarding lifesaving podcasts that will immediately free victims of sex trafficking who are our colleagues and family members.

Please tell us where respectful, life-honoring emergency response can be achieved.

Thank you for your swiftest acknowledgement. 

When we broadcast in public and in private, victims and survivors can interact in caring community environments.

When we do not broadcast in public and in private, victims and survivors are drawn back into known active trafficking operations who can easily pick them up when they do not have ongoing inclusive community activities.

In order for this to work, we must have as many people as possible as part of our public and private conversations.

When it is only one person or only a few people, traffickers can easily take advantage and draw us back into commoditization again.

This is why the first thing we are asking is for people to commit to talking with us in public and in private and volunteering in simple, easy, safe, daily ways in our community settings.

This is the most effective first protection for those who are currently being victimized by known active human trafficking operations.
