Armed Clashes Continue Across Rojhelat as Fighting Spreads to Three Provinces

Over the past week, several armed clashes have been reported between Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) across different parts of Rojhelat (Iranian Kurdistan). The fighting has taken place in the areas around Marivan (Merîwan), Mahabad (Mehabad), and Paveh (Pawe), pointing to a growing escalation of military confrontations in the region.

According to statements and reports released by the parties involved, the IRGC claimed that four YRK fighters were killed during the recent clashes in the Şarstên area between Mahabad and Piranshahr (Pîranşar). As of the time of publication, the YRK command has neither confirmed nor denied the claim.

Meanwhile, local sources and media outlets close to Kurdish forces have reported that more than 10 Iranian military personnel were killed during the fighting over the past week.

YRK: 4 of Our Comrades Martyred in the Operation in Mahabad

The YRK Press and Information Center issued a statement regarding the recent attacks by the IRGC forces and the Mahabad operation, stating that 4 of their comrades were martyred as a result of this operation.

YRK Confirms Death of Four Fighters in Mahabad Clashes, Accuses IRGC of Escalating Attacks

The Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) have confirmed that four of their fighters were killed during the recent clashes near Mahabad, while accusing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of escalating military operations against its forces and the Kurdish population.

In a statement released, YRK said it had consistently followed its "Third Line" policy during the recent regional conflict involving Iran. The group stated that it did not support any side and had not launched attacks against the Iranian government, even during what it described as one of Iran's most vulnerable periods.

According to the statement, after recent developments, the IRGC and Iranian security agencies significantly increased their military operations against YRK positions and used the situation to target the group's forces.

YRK said the military operation in the Gagesh area near Mahabad began on June 27 and involved a large number of IRGC forces using heavy weapons. The group claimed that the IRGC suffered casualties during the fighting.

For the first time, YRK officially confirmed that four of its fighters—two women and two men—were killed during the clashes after, in its words, "resisting until their last breath". The Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) said their identities would be announced later.

YRK concluded its statement by saying: "As the Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK), we will respond to these recent attacks against our forces at the time and place of our choosing. As we have stated before, if these attacks continue, our response will be different. We once again make it clear that these attacks will not go unanswered".

Across Rojhelat (eastern Kurdistan, western Iran) the clashes between the Iranian regime and Kurdish factions continue on its second day.

The tensions are rising steadily and we are expecting an escalation.

Recent events:
- The PJAK announces that 4 of its members have been martyred during clashes on July 27
- 2 IRGC members (jashes) have been assassinated by a Kurdish faction in Paveh
- Deployment of Heavy military equipment and other Iranian assets are being observed across various locations; locals have reported that Arabic speaking IRGC members have been deployed

The clashes are no longer concentrated on a singular location in Rojhelat but have spread towards several region - multiple Kurdish factions are now involved in these clashes within their respective area of influence.

Protests in Kurdish cities, in support of the people of Tel Aran and Tel Hasel, raising slogans: “Those who have given birth to Kurdish female fighters will not be broken by the hands of terrorism” and “We will not remain with our hands tied.”

Until now, the terrorist campaign by the General Security forces has not stopped, as they attack civilians and arrest Kurdish youths only because they are Kurdish.

The protest is continuing.

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jody Williams sent a letter to Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan:

"Your ideas on democracy, coexistence, and women's liberation give us hope. I believe your leadership plays a significant role in social change."

Jolani has presented the list of the 70 parliamentarians that he appoints.

70 out of 210 parliamentarians are appointed by Jolani - 140 were *elected* in an election that excluded the vast majority of Syrian voters.

The list itself does not offer any surprises.
The biggest surprise is that Jolani appointed a Syrian actress (Rozina Lazkani) as a parliamentarian.

11% representation of woman in the parliament; well below the promised 20%.

Ethnic diversity is basically non existent - when Jolani first declared that he will appoint 1/3 of the parliament, this decision was defended by the sphere of activists highly sympathetic to Jolani stating that his 70 appointees will be used by the pragmatic Jolani to include a diverse group of parliamentarians that represent the diversity of Syria; this turns out to be false in yet another failure of this sphere to predict Jolanis style of governance (knowingly creating false narratives and expectations to create a very positive impression of Jolani)

No democracy in Syria - not even nuances of it.

Since last night, reports from Eastern Kurdistan have indicated intensified Iranian Revolutionary Guard military movements in the Piranshahr-Mahabad-Sardasht area, with IRGC forces reportedly attempting to approach PJAK/YRK areas.

Two armed clashes were also reported in Saqqez and Piranshahr between Kurdish opposition fighters and IRGC forces.

Casualties are reportedly present on both sides, while further details are still emerging.
