corrected #YURI WAR BRIEFING Ukrainians report a large concentration of Russian troops at Kharkov theater on the Russian side of the border, so Yuri “wouldn’t exclude” a possible offensive operation here before the end of the year.
Zaluzhni, Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, according to Ukrainian sources, expects to see the Russians conducting urban warfare in Bakhmut, key defense node for the current line of defense, already next week. Yuri expects the Slaviansk-Kramatorsk offensive operation to take place already in august. Manpower losses in Donbass estimated to be 1 to 15-1 to 20 in Russian favor, as Russians take Ukrainian positions only after no resistance at all is offered after repeated artillery barrages.
Zaluzhni attempts to relinquish the responsibility for the imminent Kherson offensive, or even having the president to cancel it, advocating more defensive strategies. State of the fronts as of 18:00 CEST July 30. Español: @rpd_es

#YURI WAR BRIEFING Assault on Solidar and Bakhmut started. Unsuccessful Ukrainian counterattack near Bakmut leaves some 360 ukrainian soldiers dead, with several dozens of armored vehicles destroyed. Russians counterattack, pursuing the retreating enemy.
Serious success near Avdeyeka: Up to two batallions of the Ukrainian infantry destroyed, 1st line of defense of the abandoned Peski village, a fortified area ploughed over by the artillery and airforce attacks, and taken over by the DPR troops.
Chances of the Ukrainian offensive towards Kherson look grim as the principal objective of cutting of the Russian right-bank group from the supply have not been achieved, with Antonovski bridge nearly restored, Kakhovskaya dam intact, and multiple pontoon and ferry crossings in place.
State of the fronts: Aug 2, 19:00 CEST.

Zelenski, in a presidential address tonight: “We cannot break the Russian army’s superiority in manpower and artillery. It is felt very much in Peski, Avdeyevka and elsewhere. It’s a literall hell out there. Words cannot describe it.” - Ukraine’s president confirms #YURI projections.
Being strictly factual, Russian army has no manpower superiority at all, it wages war with its peacetime professional army, with only DPR and LPR having conscripts in their ranks, as two republics underwent mobilization. The artillery superiority statement is correct, even though Ukraine inherited a sizeable Soviet arsenal of conventional weapons, that have been mostly sold away, or is in disrepair. It has no heavy munition factories running. #context

Russian government can finance its current war effort without borrowing funds at the very least until the end of 2023, #YURI assesses, if all liquid assets of the National Wealth Fund and other government reserves are taken into account. He estimates a year-to-year federal government expenses hike at 500 billion rubles ($8,75B) a month, an amount that can be roughly attributed to the special military operation’s cost.
