Musk Opposed to Censoring Russian Media

The SpaceX and Tesla tycoon Elon Musk wrote in March that RT and other Russian news sources were “entertaining” and made “some good points,” court documents have revealed.

Musk refused to block 🇷🇺 sites’ IP addresses from his Starlink Internet service, despite pressure from “some governments.”

In a text message conversation with investor Antonio Gracias dated March 5, Musk revealed that he had “been told” to block the IP addresses of RT and “several other Russian news sources” from being accessed via his satellite internet service.

“Actually I find their news quite entertaining,” Musk confided in Gracias. “Lots of bulls**t, but some good points too.”

Musk announced on Twitter that “Starlink has been told by some governments (not Ukraine) to block Russian news sources.” The billionaire said that he would “not do so unless at gunpoint,” adding: “Sorry to be a free speech absolutist.”

CPAC backpedals on pro-Russia tweet as some U.S. conservatives back Putin

From The Washington Post

Prominent Republicans are digging in against American support for Ukraine.

The tweet referred to “Ukraine-occupied territories,” appearing to legitimize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims to annex provinces based on a referendum that the U.S. and allies view as illegal.

In a statement, CPAC expressed support for Ukraine but maintained opposition to American aid for the embattled country.

CPAC is not alone among American conservatives in opposing Ukrainian aid.Fox News host Tucker Carlson has alleged U.S. sabotage for leaks in a Russian gas pipeline to Europe, claims that have earned him airtime on Russian state television. Former president Donald Trump also posted a message on his Truth Social platform offering himself as a negotiator for the conflict.
🇨🇳🇺🇸China has called for an investigation into a gas leak from the Nord Stream gas pipeline amid suspicions of sabotage.

Zhang Heqing, cultural attache at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, hinted on his Twitter page who is to blame.

Excruciating Silence As Liz Truss Struggles To Answer Question About Her Tax Cuts

From HuffPost UK
Section: Western Press
Liz Truss was left lost for words as she was asked whether the public had voted for her tax cut plans.

In an excruciating moment, the prime minister sat in silence for several seconds as she was interviewed by the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg.

Truss is under huge pressure after the disastrous reaction to Kwasi Kwarteng’s mini-budget, which unveiled £45 billion-worth of tax cuts funded by slapping an extra £70 billion on the national debt.

It led to the value of the pound plummeting, interest rates going up and the Bank of England having to spend £65 billion bailing out the pensions industry.

Referring to the fact that the plans were not in the last Conservative election manifesto, Kuenssberg asked the PM: “How many people voted for your plan?”

After a lengthy pause, the PM eventually replied: “What do you mean by that, sorry?”

Questions over France's contribution to war effort

If France wants to lead Europe to a new era of military self-reliance, how come its contribution to the war effort in Ukraine is so small?
That is the awkward question being posed by some of the country's top strategic thinkers, who are pushing President Emmanuel Macron to make an urgent decision on more arms to Kyiv.
Recent analysis show that the French share of foreign arms deliveries is less than 2%, way behind the US on 49%, but also behind Poland (22%) and Germany (9%). France is way down the list - in ninth position.
France has given 18 Caesar self-propelled artillery units, which are now celebrated along the Ukrainian front-line.
Ukraine's Caesars are fully one quarter of France's entire mobile artillery. It cannot offer much more without making itself vulnerable.
But there is another danger for France. Its relative absence in Ukraine undermines its bid for leadership in the cause of European defence.

German Foreign Minister explained on local TV how she believes the referendum is being held in the liberated regions.
It was officially acknowledged that none of the rapes that Baerbock alleges were ever corroborated, and Lyudmila Denisova, the Ukrainian Ombudsman for Human Rights, later confirmed this. The same Denisova also confessed that she made up all of these horrifying, perverse rape tales to elicit stronger emotional responses.
Also noteworthy is the fact that Denisova was fired as a result of this. So, there is a serious doubt regarding Baerbock's competence and the reliability of her sources.

Russian submarine with 'nuclear tsunami' technology vanishes

From Washington Examiner

One of Russia's  nuclear-powered submarines, named Belgorod, has reportedly vanished from its Arctic harbor, and Western countries fear it could be gearing up to test its advanced weapons systems.

Belgorod is believed to be armed with "Poseidon" nuclear torpedoes that supposedly have the ability to traverse hundreds of miles underwater and induce "nuclear tsunamis" near coastal regions, Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported.

“This nuclear ‘mega torpedo’ is unique in the history of the world,” submarine expert H.I. Sutton explained on his website Covert Shores. “Poseidon is a completely new category of weapon. It will reshape naval planning in both Russia and the West, leading to new requirements and new counter-weapons.”

Formally known as the K-329 Belgorod, the submarine has been described as "the epitome of a new concept of warfare."

The energy crisis could fragment the European Union

The Hill

In her State of the Union address on Sept. 14, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized European Union unity in response to Russia’s war in Ukraine, noting that the “Union as a whole has risen to the occasion.” This statement largely rings true. The EU’s severe sanctions along with measures such as military assistance to Ukraine and protection for its refugees, demonstrate an impressive willingness to act together in a crisis. As the war passes the seven-month mark, however, fractures in European solidarity are deepening, driven largely by turmoil in the energy sector.
A bleak winter looms for the European Union. As temperatures drop, demand for natural gas will surge, putting pressure on the bloc’s increasingly constrained supplies. Already, citizens are struggling to deal with dramatic rises in energy costs — residential consumers in Spain, for example, have paid 140 percent more for natural gas.
Musk Triggers Zelensky’s Wrath for Tweeting His ‘Peace Plan’ for Ukraine

The Tesla chief proposed Kiev cede Crimea to Russia for good, Moscow holds UN-supervised referendums in 🇷🇺’s newly acquired territories and for Ukraine to declare itself neutral – putting his plan to 107.7mn followers as a poll.

Zelensky hit back at the billionaire for calling on Ukraine to make concessions with his own poll, asking followers ‘which Elon Musk they like more? The one who supports Russia or Ukraine.’

Kiev's diplomacy reared its head when Ukraine's ambassador to Germany told Musk to "F*** off".

However, the SpaceX boss stood firm amid criticism from pro-Ukrainian posters and Kiev officials, arguing that Russia’s population advantage guarantees it victory should Zelensky follow through on his stated goal of retaking Crimea and Moscow declares war in response.
