Agents are reporting that nominations and edits that have been made to Wayfarer via Ingress are now missing from the contribution management page.

While it only seems to affect some contributions for some, others are reporting that every single Ingress contribution has been either hidden or removed. It is currently unknown if this is an error or intended due to the Niantic Spatial/Scopely split.

The transition to Niantic Spatial continues, with the Niantic Labs social media accounts being taken over!

In particular, the username of the NianticLabs account was changed to NianticSpatial, carrying over all the prior followers and posts, while the Niantic Labs account on Instagram had its name changed to Niantic Spatial Inc.

The sale of Niantic games has been closed!

While Niantic and Scopely announced the sale a while back already, it didn't actually happen yet due to regulatory reasons. These reasons have now been resolved, and the split has now officially happened.

It seems like Niantic is currently in the process of getting Recon ready and nominations and edits are disabled due to it. If you're trying to nominate via deep link the Scanner prompts you to link an email to your account. This message normally only appeared if you use Ingress with an Facebook account which only has a phone number linked to it.

If you had Nominations, edits or scans saved to Upload Later, don't reinstall Ingress as that will delete them. For now, keep the Scanner as is and they should hopefully reappear once the feature is re-enabled.

While Niantic did just post this update, Agents are reporting that the issue has been resolved! Restart your scanner and check if you can access Nominations, edits and your saved contributions again.

Agents on Reddit are reporting that it is currently not possible to change your Agent Name via a support ticket. Once we get confirmations that this option has beem reintroduced we will let you know.

Niantic Spatial has updated their Terms of Service to align with the founding of the new company. Compared to the previous ToS under Niantic not much has changed aside from updating mentions from Niantic Inc. to Niantic Spatial Inc., however the following line has been added:

By making any User Content available through the Services you grant to Niantic Spatial a license to use your User Content, including without limitation in connection with the training of machine learning and AI models.

Quote slightly adjusted to make it more readable

The same adjustments have also be made to the Privacy Policy, including the addition of the AI module training notice. We also noticed that the following has been added in preparation for Niantic Spatial Recon:

You can choose to opt out of having your in-game username attributed on your Niantic Spatial Recon submissions across Niantic Spatial products by going to the Niantic Spatial Recon settings.

The Ingress team has not made accepting the new Terms of Service or Privacy Policy mandatory yet.

August, GA held a Mission Day together with a First Saturday this weekend! Agents from all around gathered to explore the city, solve the IFS passcode and hacked the NL1331-A portal that was invited to the event as well. Rounding out the weekend was the Second Sunday the next day.
