You can now buy Faction and Codename Tokens in the Store to instantly change your Faction or Codename respectively.

For 15,000 CMU each ($9,99|9,99€|¥1.600) you can buy each Token once every 90 days to immediately change either your current Faction or your current Codename. These Tokens are available to Agents that have reached Level 4.

A few things to note:

- Agents who choose to use these tokens will retain their current Agent Level, current AP, lifetime AP, and full item inventory. They will not be reset to Level 1.

- With a Faction change, Portals, Resonators, and Mods deployed by the Agent prior to the change remain aligned to the previous Faction.

- With a Codename change, those deployments automatically update to reflect the new codename, and the previous codename becomes permanently unavailable to that Agent and all other Agents.

- Purchases of the Codename Token and Faction Token are immediate, irreversible, and non-refundable. Subsequent selections cannot be altered or canceled once confirmed. If an Agent utilizes a Faction Token but ultimately chooses to remain with their current Faction, the Token is still consumed and the 90-day cooldown applies.

- If the process is interrupted before a selection is completed (closing the Scanner or Scanner crash), a pending Token prompt will reappear immediately at the next login. Tapping this prompt allows the Agent to finish the selection before any other game actions.

NIA Recommendation: Retain your current alliance. Have faith, this did not happen by chance, you were chosen.

⚠️ Note that the option to change your Faction during Recursion will continue to be available for free.

Niantic announced the first of the Apollo Season Campaigns!

Operation Red Codex will run from July 1st @ 18:00 UTC to July 31st @ 18:00 UTC!

It will feature four campaigns, one free and three premium, which will take you through some newly discovered lore documents!

Chapter I: First Vision - Free - Agnes Brandt Medal
Chapter II: The Blueprint - 7000 CMU - Vera Brandt Medal
Chapter III: The Schism - 15000 CMU - P.A. Chapeau Medal
Chapter IV: Threshold - 25000 CMU - Hank Johnson Medal

Chapter I consists of 2 stages, each with 2 assignments, each of 3 bounties. Complete 2 to unlock the next assignment. This the only one awarding Apollo Tokens, 2500 of them, by completing its first stage.

Other campaigns feature 2 or 3 stages, 4 bounties per assignment. Complete 3 to advance to the following assignment.

Chapter 1 - Stage 1
Assignment 1 - 1000 Apollo Tokens
🔸Walk 4 kilometers
🔸Deploy 80 Resonators
🔸Create 25 Links
Assignment 2 - 1500 Apollo Tokens + Codex I: Agnes Medal

Niantic updated their events schedule for the Apollo Season, adding a new event!

Their blog post was updated with this new entry:
July 15th @ 18:00 UTC - August 14th @ 18:00 UTC: ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
Stay prepared for new directives

As you can see, this event will partially overlap Operation Red Codex, another unknown event which is scheduled to run from July 31st @ 18:00 UTC to August 31st @ 18:00 UTC, and part of the Level 8 Week event which runs from August 7th @ 18:00 UTC to August 17th @ 18:00 UTC.
At the moment not much is known about the event. But we will certainly update you whenever new info surfaces.

Houston XFAC Brings a Texas Bluebonnet to Life

After seeing the incredible Warsaw "Flower" field art, a few friends in the Houston XFAC community figured it was time to build their own version. They chose the Texas Bluebonnet, a beloved state flower that stands for bravery and resilience.

At the end of the day, the cycle scoreboard always resets, but building cool things with friends from both sides of the scanner is what sticks around.

The Apollo Rewards Campaign has started!

Agents were finally able to see the new Apollo Season Medal in Bronze, Silver and Gold. This campaign will grant some rewards to Agents as they collect Apollo Tokens towards the higher tiers of the Season Medal.

As previously announced, this campaign will run until October 1st at 2359 UTC.

We are receiving reports that the Spatial team has begun to work on Portal Nominations that haven't been resolved before OPR was shut down!

Since OPR was paused about 4 months ago back in March, the only contributions that got resolved by the team were new Portal Pictures, with edits, new nominations and appeals not being touched. It seems like the team is now making their way to the nominations queue as well and approving or rejecting portals that haven't yet been decided on.

Importantly though, this does not mean that OPR is returning. Under Niantic, the Wayfarer team was under the obligation to work through a portion of the backlog themselves due to a lawsuit. It is entirely possible that Niantic Spatial needs to follow the same decision by the courts and that this is part of it. Should we hear anything different we will let you know, of course.

Agents that have attended the Orion Anomalies in Prague and Sydney are reporting having received an e-mail from Brian Rose, the game director of Ingress, containing a rich single-use passcode.

Brian once again apologises for the issues that occurred during these events and says that there has been active work on the backend redesign to better handle Anomaly events. This new backend system is apparently already in use during Anomalies, but not yet ready to be deployed globally for normal gameplay.

Additionally, the team is working on another blog post focusing on the changes that have been made since the incident and what changes are still planned to be made in the future.
