As previously mentioned, three different Anomaly Badges will be obtainable for Agents:

Commemorative +Gamma Onsite Medal
Earned by participating in any Anomaly Event onsite. This Medal is single-tiered.
Global Campaign Medal
Based on the performance of Agents in the Global Campaign. This Medal is 3-tiered, but more details on the tiers will be published soon.
Additionally, as a new mechanic in this Anomaly Season, Ingress First Saturday Events become part of the Anomaly Series Score!

In response to recent inquiries from Agents following the release of +Gamma Season details, we have received reports from Agents in contact with NIA.S operatives that Remote Recharge is not planned to be brought back as a way to earn any Anomaly credit or medal.

Agents worldwide are reporting issues with logging onto the game. This is likely due to the expiration of the SSL certificate of https://prod-ingress.ingress.com, the domain on which the game runs. Delays can be expected as this is also a weekend, but we'llโฆ
Just in case you were wondering: Yes, the game is currently still not working as expected. As of this point we have also not received any communication from Niantic Spatial or the Ingress team about the issue, and it is unknown if any of the current events will be extended, hacking streaks extended or compensation of any kind given.

We are receiving reports that Ingress is now trying to get back up again, but with still some lag.
This is likely due to the whole infrastructure returning to its normal state, so don't be surprised: it should all be fine in a bit.

Niantic published a message confirming that the game is now in full working order!
As a compensation for the earlier problems with accessing the game, Niantic now offers a free bundle to all agents containing the following:

๐ธ3 Rare Kinetic Capsules
๐ธ40 XMP Bursters
๐ธ40 Resonators
๐ธ40 Power Cubes
The bundle will be available in the in-app store during the upcoming 48 hours.

With the Ingress 3.1.2 update that was released in the middle of December Agents on Android have reported that the Portal Nomination flow is broken. Specifically, once you have entered the Portal Title and press OK, the title automatically clears up and doesn't save and it is impossible to even start typing the Portal Description, breaking the Nomination flow.
A workaround until this is fixed is to use the "Enter" button on your phones keyboard instead of the OK button that most people normally press. This saves the Portal Title as expected and you can continue with the Nomination flow as normal to submit your Portal.
This does not seem to work for everyone and might depend on the keyboard you use. If you have issues with this workaround, try installing a different Keyboard from Google Play such as SwiftKey.
This post is a copy of a recent @IUENG_Extra post, but as quite a few Agents have asked about this issue in our discussion group we feel like it is worth it to post on the main channel as well. If you have seen this post already, apologies about the ping!

Before submitting your nomination, double check that everything looks fine and check your submission email once it arrives. Niantic Spatial has released an Incident Report for the network failure last week during which players were not able to log into the Ingress app for several hours. This report, while written in an "in-universe" style, does seem to be an honest post mortem about the blackout. From the document, we can glean the following:
The root cause of the nine-hour outage was a failed automated renewal of an SSL Certificate. The failure occurred because the renewal script still contained hardcoded references to "NianticLabs." In real-world terms, this points to a conflict arising from the game's recent corporate transition: while the game has been spun out to the new "Niantic Spatial," the legacy code still pointed towards the old "Niantic Labs" entity, causing the automated system to reject the update due to the naming mismatch.
The restoration took nearly nine hours because the monitoring systems failed to immediately recognize the severity of the issue. Since active players were not kicked out immediately but only lost access once their sessions naturally timed out, the traffic volume decayed gradually rather than dropping sharply. The automated sensors misinterpreted this as a natural decline in player activity rather than a systemic crash. Compounding this issue was human error; duty officers observed anomalous data early in the event but dismissed it, mistaking the signal for a known, non-critical glitch that was already in the queue.
To prevent a recurrence, Niantic Spatial has implemented several new remediation protocols. These include dedicated alerts specifically for SSL expirations that bypass general traffic sensors, as well as tuned diagnostics capable of detecting "slow decay" connectivity patterns. Furthermore, internal communication protocols have been overhauled to require strict confirmation on alerts, ensuring that staff can no longer dismiss major system anomalies as minor, pre-existing glitches.
