Niantic announced a reduction in the Access Level needed to participate in Wayfarer from Ingress.

According to Tintino's article on the Wayfarer Forum, the Access Level to Wayfarer has been reduced from L10 to L8 to allow more Agents "to contribute to the game and help build a more vibrant and engaging experience for everyone regardless if they live in major metropolitan cities or small rural communities" given the difficulty in reaching higher levels on Ingress for players who reside in rural areas.

Niantic announced a new Campaign Event in celebration of Valentine's day!

On February 14th, from 0:00 to 23:59 local time, a special linking-themed Campaign will be enabled for all Agents. The Event description promises "pink" rewards, possibly hinting to Very Rare items.

Additionally, the following medals will be available in the in-app store from February 13th @ 11:00 UTC to February 15th @ 11:00 UTC.

IUENG is the largest cross-faction news channel on Telegram, bringing you the latest Ingress news as fast as possible. As we have grown over the last 8 years the team behind it has largely stayed the same. We finally want to extend that team and include more Agents from around the world and different factions to help us out in the delivery of timely and unbiased posts.

The +Alpha Anomaly weekend in Yokosuka, Japan is kicking off with the Goruck Stealth Ops!

Agents are ready for a night of intense physical challenges which will bring up to 7 Season Points to their Faction!

Reports keep coming in from Yokosuka, where two challenges have already been completed!
The first one, a relay race passing heavy backpacks between members of the team, was won by the Enlightened!
The second one, which had Agents draw glyphs with their bodies, was won by the Resistance!

As such, the score is currently tied, 1-1!
