Niantic has revealed the design of the Sarah Coppola 2024 medal!
The medal will be available for sale starting from December 13th for 30,800 CMU together with an assortment of other items. It will stay on sale together with the Christopher Brand 2024 medal and the Klue 2016 medal (which will be on sale from Nov. 30th) until the end of the year, December 31st.

After a bug in yesterdays rollout of the Y13 Y12 medal which resulted in some eligible Agent not receiving it, Niantic is currently in the process of re-issuing the medal after fixing the bug. If you have been affected you should be credited the anniversary medal soon!

โ The +1 for OPR Live is NOT automatically added to your account. You MUST redeem the passcodes from the mail to recieve the badge tick.
This also means that if you don't redeem the passcodes until January 31th, after which the codes expire, you will lose the badge tick.
Currently, Agents that also play Pokemon GO and who qualify for Wayfarer there should have gotten their rewards per mail. If you are playing Ingress only then the email with the rewards are still pending, so don't worry if you haven't received yours yet.

Niantic has released a new update to Ingress, v2.155.1.
The change log lists no notable modifications in this version, save for an update to the Niantic platform and some not-better-specified bugfixes.
Agents who already received the update are reporting that, just like with Pokรฉmon Go, the "Report Invalid Portal" menu has been updated to allow the input of a supporting statement for Niantic! For example, if you use Scaniverse you can add a link to a scan which shows the status of the reported portal to the text box.
The update is rolling out to Agents at the time of writing this post.

We are receiving reports of a particular e-mail being sent out to some Ingress Agents.
In these e-mail, the recipient is invited to sign up to the Wayfarer Explorer - VPS Activator Pilot, described as an "opportunity to elevate your scanning and exploring experiences".
Chosen Agents, who have been selected by their "outstanding track record in scanning" and "as a reward to their contributions to the Wayfarer community", will be granted additional rights to activate VPS points of interest making them interactable via the AR features of Niantic games.
By scouring the sign-up form, we can observe that participants will be expected to submit 10 scans for each Activation Request filed, Niantic will not check the amount of scans submitted and Participants are expected to follow this requirement in good faith. Participants who do not meet this requirement can be removed from the Pilot at Niantic's discretion.
We are looking into more information about the VPS Activator Pilot and we'll keep you updated as more details emerge.

Agents that have been accepted into the program report that it is currently scheduled to run until January 13, 2025. Depending on the result of this pilot, it may be reconducted or incorporated more broadly into Wayfarer in the future.
Participants of the pilot can request up to 10 VPS activations per day with a global limit of 500 activations per day across all users. Niantic asks Agents to maintain a reasonable ratio between submitting scans and requesting VPS activations (likely the 10 scans per 1 activation request as mentioned in the application form) as they want to gauge if this ratio is reasonable.
Have you been accepted into the program? Share your experiences and feedback in a special forum section on the Wayfarer Community Forums, visible only to participants. You'll find a link to it in the second mail Niantic sent you confirming that you have been accepted. Note that Niantic is asking you to refrain from sharing your experiences and thoughts publicly with anyone not part of the pilot!

The Events section of the Intel map is now active!
Using the Events tab will show you the events with a confirmed start date that are also currently shown in the Campaign tab in the Scanner. As of right now this only includes the Second Sunday, but should show the upcoming 2sDay and the second round of the Bounty Blitz once their start time is added as well. You can add these events into your Google Calendar as well with a simple click!
Note that there seems to be a bug which prevents some Agents from viewing the Events page due to a misconfiguration involving time zones when trying to access the page. You can use this link in the meantime, but note that the times shown are UTC, not local time.

Niantic has released Update 2.156.2 into the App Stores!
As already teased by Brian, the render pipeline of the scanner has been improved which should result in a faster start up time when opening the app as well as general performance improvements. First reports by Agents indicate that the improvements are noticeable.
Interestingly, the app icon which has been changing for every anomaly season since the Echo Anomaly series has been changed back to the standard purple app icon instead of being given a new look for the +Alpha Anomaly series.
