GORUCK Stealth has ended in Atlanta! With a narrow lead the Enlightened have won with a score of ENL 3 - 2 RES, earning the right to insert one additional Shard jump at a time of their choosing during the Anomaly today.

In addition, various Intel packets were given out to Agents of both factions.

Niantic recently attempted to push the medals in celebration of Ingress' Year 11. Agents have reported that, instead of the Paragon Medal, the Persistence Medal (Year 9 anniversary) was pushed, overwriting the one already earned by Agents.

Niantic is aware of the issue and is working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

For Ingress' 11th Anniversary, Niantic has released some new t-shirt designs which are available to purchase on Amazon!

The first design presents a small "11" Ingress logo on the front and the Paragon Medal design on the back either coloured or monochrome.

Niantic has released Update 2.130.1 to the App Stores!

No Release Notes were posted on the news blog, however the changelog in the App Store mentions that some translation errors have been fixed such as CMU being translated into Carnegie Mellon University in Chinese.

After intercepting a transmission between Akira Tsubasa and Devra Bogdanovich about their newest (and potentially dangerous) experiment regarding Machina, the NIA has dug into their Archive and is re-relasing two medals!

Both the Akira Tsubasa 2017 and the Devra Bogdanovich 2017 medal bundles are now available in the scanner store alongside various items. Akira's bundle contains a few offensive items while Devra's bundle focuses on defensive ones.

Both bundles cost 30,800 CMU each (ca. 23€). It is currently unknown how long these medals will be available.

Niantic has released the details for the Operation Chronos event that starts in less than 24 hours!

From 6 December 2023, 00:00 UTC to Saturday, 6 January 2024, 00:00 UTC you'll earn Chronos points through the following actions:

🔸1 Overclock Hack Point = 2 Chronos Points
🔸1 Portal Capture = 1 Chronos Point
🔸1 Mod Deploy = 1 Chronos Point

Agents meeting certain thresholds will be awarded the Chronos medal! There are two tiers with the following Chronos Point requirements:

🔸Basic: 500 Chronos Points
🔸Advanced: 5000 Chronos Points

Overclock Hack Points are calculated depending on how long the successful glyph sequence of an Overclock is as well as if the Scanner successfully calibrated against the Portal. A L8 portal that was calibrated successfully against is therefore worth 40 Chronos points if all glyphs are entered correctly.

Does my device support Overclock?

Some Agents are unsure if their device supports hacking Portals via Overclock especially after the Scanning update after which a lot of phones became unsupported.

While your phone may not support scanning, the requirements for Overclock are less stringent which means that your phone could still support Overclock. To find out if your phone is supported, follow these steps:

🔸Open the Remote View for the NL-1331 portal with Ingress via this link and open the portal details: https://link.ingress.com/?link=https://intel.ingress.com/p/6ddfcc922c1a4fc4a2c76786a4e7bb2b.16
🔸Tap on the Overclock button to the right of the Hack button

One of two messages should now be shown:
🔸"Device does not support Overclock": This message sadly means that your phone does not support Overclock. If you are on Android, double check if the Google Play Services for AR are installed and if not, retry the steps above
🔸"Unable to Overclock remotely": This message means that your phone is supported! Now you just have to find a portal that has Overclock activated and start the AR hack. We will share tipps to find them in a seperate post soon.

Niantic has published a modification to the scoring criteria for the Overclock Glyph points and in extension for Operation Chronos.

As of last night, failing a Reality Calibration will now result in a 0.25x multiplier on the Overclock Glyph points, awarding only one fourth of the previously gained points.

This means that the maximum Overclock Hack points available from an unmodded L8 Portal before burnout is now 32, but it requires waiting for the cooldown in between hacks, failing the calibration for the first 3 Overclock hacks and calibrating successfully for the last hack as opposed to gaining 20 points without waiting.
The maximum Chronos Points available from Overclock hacking a Portal are, hence, 64 on an unmodded L8 Portal.

Before the update, it was possible to repeatedly fail the Calibration but still gaining 15 Overclock Glyph points for correctly entering the 5 glyphs of a L8 portal, bringing the maximum to 65 points when calibrating for the last hack before Burnout and a total of 130 Chronos points.
