Our amazing Agent Ishira, also known for her Swagcapsule, the Glyph Journal and her work as an investigator and as our chat moderator, recently rescued 4 puppies that were abandoned on the side of a highway. While all the costs for deworming, vaccination shots and other bet bills have already been covered, 2 of the puppies need additional surgery ("umbilical hernia repairs") which hasn't been covered yet.

Niantic has restored the Camp Navarro portals that were removed a while ago!
Thia said on the forum that various protections have been applied to them to prevent a similar situation in the future and that she tried her best to restore Portal Keys to the inventory of affected agents, however there may be some gaps.
Due to this, Thia has generated passcodes that contain Portal Keys for the portals that can be redeemed twice per agent until the end of April! If you have been impacted and haven't gotten your Keys back yet or if you just want to have these special keys, follow the link below to the list of passcodes on the forum.

At GDC 2023, the Game Developers Conference which took place last week in San Francisco, CA, USA, Niantic hosted a panel dedicated to Ingress.
A new exciting feature, which is planned to be released this summer, was announced at the event: Overclock!
Overclock is a new way to hack an Ingress Portal using AR, leveraging Lightship's VPS (Visual Positioning System) which was introduced to the Niantic Lightship platform a while back with the help of the data collected by Agents with Portal Scans!
An Overclock hack is performed by deploying a Glyph Terminal and transcribing the 3D glyphs which will be presented to you into 2D glyphs before time runs out.
The aim of this feature is to "close the loop" around VPS, showing Ingress Players what their Portal Scans are useful for, but also to finally be able to test the AR positioning in-game so that Ingress Developers will be able to experiment with it and make this new feature fun.
Hence, this feature will only be available on VPS-enabled Portals, but fret not! If a Portal nearby isn't VPS-enabled, you will be able to scan it several times to enable VPS and to unlock Overclock. After enough scans have been collected and Niantic has processed them, Overclock will become available. If you want to prepare for this new feature, you should start scanning portals during various times of the day to ensure that VPS will be enabled in time!
We are eager to hear and see more about this feature but, for now, we are going to share with you the talk given by Michael Romero (Agent micromero), Engineering Director for Ingress, where he explains the basics of this new feature.

Niantic has announced a new medal: North Star!
Thanks to advances in XM technology, the NIA can use the power of the Starfield to enhance interfacing with the Portal Network! To aid Agents in their quest and help the NIA with their XM investigation, the North Star medal will function as follows:
Agents will first need to stand opposite of the nothernmost Resonator of a portal (as marked in the Portal Details screen). After that, Agents will need to orient their Scanner due north and initiate a Glyph Hack. During the duration of the Glyph Hack, Agents will need to stay at the same location and keep their Scanner oriented to the north, otherwise no points will be awarded for the North Star medal.
The NIA is noting that, due to GPS drift, tall buildings, April Fools, XM turbulence and other disturbances, Agents may need to shift left and right to maintain their position and orientation of the 6-DOF parallel manipulator in the joint space coordinate.
The North Star medal will have the following tiers:
🔸Bronze: 401
🔸Silver: 20,000
🔸Gold: 60,000
🔸Platinum: 200,000
🔸Onyx: 500,000

Niantic's web3 project, the Ingress Trading Post, is shutting down on June 9th.
The Trading Post aimed to connect Ingress Agents around the world through digital Ingress Bio Cards, but the company plans to shift focus to other priorities. Users will have 60 days from today to download their Bio Cards and 30 days to trade and create new Bio Cards before the shutdown.
On June 9th, the Trading Post website and associated Niantic Campfire channel will shut down.

The Trading Post aimed to connect Ingress Agents around the world through digital Ingress Bio Cards, but the company plans to shift focus to other priorities. Users will have 60 days from today to download their Bio Cards and 30 days to trade and create new Bio Cards before the shutdown.
On June 9th, the Trading Post website and associated Niantic Campfire channel will shut down.

Niantic has recently opened two new applications for the position of Software Engineer for Ingress.
Both positions are full time, one in their HQ of San Francisco and one in their Los Angeles site. Among the prerequisites, at least 2-5 years of experience in software development, a BS in Computer Science, other technical major, or equivalent experience.
If you already enjoy playing Ingress, that's a plus!
The declared salary range is $142k to $185k per year + bonus + equity + benefits.

The first round of the Echo anomaly will begin this Saturday. Agents can now obtain two Loadouts in the store which contain various items to use during the anomaly.
