Niantic has released the rules for Phase III of the Epiphany Dawn Anomaly. This phase will take place in Yokohama, Japan and in 10 connected cells.
For Phase III, three challenges will be carried out, for a total of 400 points:
- Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons - 170 points
- Anomaly Zone Flash Shards - 130 points
- 10 Connected Cells - 100 points
Rules are generally the same as Epiphany Dawn LA, we'll summarize them here:
Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons
From 13:00 to ~16:45, every 25 minutes (9 phases), a new wave of Battle Beacons will be spawned by NIA in the Anomaly Zone.
Portals where the Beacons will spawn will be highlighted in the Intel Map.
Some Portals will be marked as Volatiles, score will be multiplied by 3.
170 points to be divided between the Factions based on the sum of all Beacons' scores.
Anomaly Zone Flash Shards
65 Shards and 12 Target Portals (6 ENL and 6 RES) will spawn in waves in the Anomaly Zone. They will jump between linked L4+ Portals every 10 minutes starting at 13:35 until 16:45.
Shards won't jump to Portals they've already visited in the previous 25 minutes. After 25 minutes with no move, they'll teleport to another Portal nearby at the following jump.
Only the first 6 shards in each of the Targets will score 2 points for the relative Faction, additional shards won't count.
130 points to be divided between the two Factions based on the score at the end of the challenge.

Rules for the Epiphany Dawn Anomaly Series.
In a chat with an Agent on social media, Brian Rose has stated that both the Ingress and the Wayfarer teams are aware of the issues with syncing between Portals and Wayspots, especially regarding Portal Photos.
He declared that "a few different issues with Portals not syncing properly with Wayfarer" were detected, so it will take some additional time from the development teams for the issue to be solved. Brian made it clear that the root cause is both on the Ingress and the Wayfarer side.

Niantic has published the release notes for their latest hotfix: Ingress v2.105.3!
The previous version, v2.105.2, fixed several bugs found in-game:
- Several soft-locks situations reported by Agents attending Epiphany Dawn: LA.
- Shard Target Portals deploy mechanics.
- An issue while recycling multiple items
Along these fixes, the Campfire button was moved to the Main Menu screen.

FevGames has announced the return of the new and improved On-site Ingress First Saturdays!
There are a few changes compared to on-site IFS events from 2019.
🔸Attendance verification
To verify your attendance at the events, you'll be required to check in with your local IFS organiser in person. You will also be required to earn at least 10.000 AP during the Event.
🔸Decoding Challenge
During the Event, 11 Portals around the Base Portal listed on the FevGames website will drop media items.
Keep track of them and their origin Portal, follow the Scavenger Hunt guide provided by your local organisers and win a valuable passcode!
🔸 Restocking Portals
30 minutes after the end of the event, two Portals at your Restocking location will have Frackers deployed on them. You can choose to coordinate with your fellow Agents to have one ENL P8 and one RES P8 to refill your inventory!

Niantic has announced the retirement of the Quantum Capsule and it's replacement with Rare Kinetics Capsules.
The Quantum Capsule will no longer be hackable from Portals, and passcodes that included a Quantum Capsule will now return a Rare Kinetic Capsule in its place.
Niantic stated that the contents of any existing Quantum Capsules will be moved to the Rare Capsule.
The Rare Kinetic Capsule will also be available via the in-app Ingress Store at 2,000 CMU.

Golden Shoe Challenge and Sweepstakes - January 2023 Official Rules
Niantic has published the deadline:
Quantum Capsules will be deprecated and replaced at approximately 17.00 UTC on 24 January
The Capsules will be replaced with one rare capsule and one rare kinetic capsule.
In addition, for one week from that day the distance required for all Kinetic Programs will be reduced by 50%
The Quantum Capsule will no longer be hackable from the XM Network, and any existing passcode that included a Quantum Capsule will now return a Rare Kinetic Capsule going forward.

Rare Kinetic Capsule is replacing the Quantum Capsule — Ingress
Niantic has released the update notes for Ingress Prime V2.108.1!
In this update a couple new features were introduced, such as increased precision on the hack cooldown timer, which will now display the exact seconds remaining!
Minor movements of Portals in Wayfarer will not break the links connected to the Portal (links will still be connected to the original position of the portal and will be destroyed when the portal is neutralized)
The Niantic Labs Settings menu will now host a new toggle to automatically confirm item pickup, making it easier to rapidly pick up items from the ground.
Finally, the layout of the game has been updated to better accommodate iOS's Dynamic Island and camera cutouts in general.
The only note about bugfixes concerns the crashes occurring during the "Report a problem" flow, which have been corrected.
