On August 16th 2022, right before the start of Superposition Phase II, we created a small survey to ask you what you would like to see at the next Anomaly Events.
We have written a report analyzing the results, and we also heard that Niantic has been informed about this data (the XMA have forwarded the report about a month ago).
As a reminder, this survey was not sanctioned by Niantic and was created out of pure curiosity from our side.

Niantic announced to have fixed the issue with friendly portals attacking same-faction Agents and a series of issues with Kinetic Capsules, namely:
πΈRare Kinetic Capsules in the C.O.R.E. Loadout have been reset to max 3 uses.
πΈ Rare Kinetic Capsules from the C.O.R.E. Loadout are no longer grouped with the Common Kinetic Capsule.
πΈDistance tracking issues reported by some Agents who were near the 40km daily distance limit, should now be fixed.

Niantic is sending another survey to Agents, this time related to Ingress.
The survey's content goes by the theme of the one @IUENG published last August, asking Agents about their experience with Live events and ideas on what they'd like to see at such events, but is much more detailed and will yield more data.
The survey also includes questions about your favourite and more intense Ingress memories.
We encourage all Agents to take the time to fill this survey in, including open-ended questions, as this is direct feedback you can give to Niantic and will directly affect how Live Events are managed.
Estimated time to complete the form averages at about 20 minutes, depending on how long your answers to open-ended questions are.

Niantic has released the release notes for version 2.102.1!
In addition to the server-side bug fixes that Niantic already announced yesterday, this update removes the black ring that rounded off the end of the visible map which was just added last update.

Agents are once again running the Ingress World Wide Competition in 2022! This November, from the 1st to the 30th and during the 10th anniversary of Ingress, participants will engage in a friendly competition among agents to find out who will be the best in one of 20 statistics!
Niantic has once again sponsored codes to give to the best players in each of the 20 choosen stats. These will be tracked by using the Agent Stats website and app.

ofer2, developer for Ingress, has commented under an old Forum post regarding the high latency the game has been experiencing for quite a while now.
In their intervention, they firstly acknowledge that experiencing this latency in-game makes it much harder and unpleasant to play, they say that the development team has been working on solving this issue "for... god know how much time" and that the issue is not solvable just by having more people working to fix it.
ofer2 states that, so far, the development team has discovered at least three completely separate issues which have all contributed to the increased latency experienced by Agents - some are client-side and some are server-side - and the problem likely won't be fixed until all these issues are taken care of.
The developer has assured that the team is still working on the issue and has mentioned to have taken a meeting regarding it just yesterday but, being the cause so complex, they don't have a timeframe for when it will be solved. They apologize for the situation being difficult as it is.

Recently, the cooldown on hacks has been modified by Niantic to return to the pre-COVID values on enemy and neutral Portals and a reduced rate on same-faction Portals.
The community immediately got to work updating their tools for calculating these new cooldowns with the various combinations of Portal Mods and we would love to present to you a handy website that does just that!
This tool was created by @filecc based on an idea by @Danynad and using it is easy as 1-2-3!
1) Select the faction owning the Portal
2) Select the combination of installed mods
3) Let the application calculate the cooldown time between hacks, the maximum number of hacks before burnout and the minimum time to burnout!

Niantic Supply has advised agents to take a picture of these cards and send these to them for a replacement. While the Email that was sent out only mentions Klue and Stein Lightman, we have seen other cards without codes as well.
