Niantic has published the release notes for version 2.101.3!

There has been some tweaking to readability and visibility. The main map now features ponds, oceans, and other bodies of water to make navigation easier. The base color of the map has also been changed to make it easier to see in sunlight, and the end of the visible map has been rounded off so you can't see the individual parts of the map tiles that were previously in a square.

The setting of the Lighting Dynamics have also been changed so that they now have a greater effect on the map. Niantic also mentions once again that the XM has been reset to white.

The bug fixes this time around include a crash that popped up on some Android devices, as well as an issue with iOS 16 that prevented you from using the Sony LinkBuds with Ingress as intended.

Today is the last day of the 90 second cooldown. Since Niantic has to change the cooldown manually, there is no exact time of when this will happen, but according to our information the change will happen at around 16 UTC, give or take a few.

If you need portal keys for your link planning or if you want to fill up your inventory, you should hack as much as you can today until the changeover!

After the changeover tonight, the following cooldown rules will apply:

🔸The cooldown will be set to 5 minutes for neutral portals and portals belonging to the enemy faction.
🔸Cooldown will be set to 180 seconds for portals belonging to your own faction.

CMU and C.O.R.E. are getting more expensive!

Blame Apple, which has raised the price tiers developers can set for in-app purchases and subscriptions. The price of CMU packages and C.O.R.E. will increase starting on October 5th for some Agents both on iPhone and Android, as Niantic will be making similar changes on other platforms as well.

Example: As Apple has removed the 5,49€ price tier for IAP, the price of C.O.R.E. will likely be raised to the next highest tier, 5,99€. Niantic can choose to keep already existing subscribers on the old price tier, however.

Some Agents are reporting receiving an e-mail from Niantic stating that an issue with past C.O.R.E. subscriptions affected their "Months Subscribed" Agent Stat, their C.O.R.E. loadout or both.
The company reports that the issue has been identified and fixed and that they are in the process of updating the accounts of affected users.

Niantic has given us a timeline for the previously announced experiment on C.O.R.E. Subscription Loadouts. Starting within a week, the 4 Apex it contained will be removed and replaced by 2 Kinetic Capsules, 20 Agent-Level XMP Bursters and 20 Agent-Level Resonators.

Brian Rose has responded to the feedback for the upcoming change to the C.O.R.E. Loadout.

In the response, Brian thanks agents for their feedback and explains that they want to tune things and experiment now that the Rare Kinetic Capsule is available, not just in regards to the C.O.R.E. Loadout, but across the game. He mentions that testing such changes in regards to global impact is difficult with a small set of players, and especially if it is a monetized feature. He also thinks that rotating the items in the C.O.R.E. Loadout from time to time may be more useful as opposed to sticking to a single loadout, and would like to hear from agents if there is a specific list of gear they'd like to see.

To recap, Niantic yesterday announced that the 4 Apex in the C.O.R.E. Loadout will be replaced with 2 Rare Kinetic Capsules as well as 20 Agent-Level XMPs and Resonators each. This change has been heavily criticised by the agents in the community, both in the forums and in our Telegram discussion group.

Niantic has read the feedback in the forum and on other platforms and will adjust the new C.O.R.E. Loadout.

Instead of removing all 4 Apex from the loadout, 2 Apex will now remain in the loadout. This means that there will now be 2 Kinetic Capsules and 2 Apex every month, along with the other items.
