He explained that the team has had a hard time reproducing the bug and, since the code of the platform Ingress runs on is different between development and production environments (because of anti-cheat and such systems), attempting to find and try out a fix is much harder. This is also due to the fact that some of the low-level code is shared between all Niantic projects and the Ingress team doesn't have access to it, not being able to attempt to debug it.
However, he assured that the team is not ignoring the issue but is in fact trying hard to isolate its cause and fix it for good.

Niantic has released the rules for Phase II of the Kythera Anomaly! The event will take place from Friday, May 20th @ 1100 UTC to Monday, May 23rd @ 1100 UTC: during this time, Agents will be able to deploy Battle Beacons and win the battles to obtains points…
Phase II of the Kythera Anomaly has begun! Agents have until 1100 UTC on May 23rd, 2022 to deploy their Battle Beacons and help their Faction win the event!
Niantic will set their own Battle Beacons between 1430 and 1730 local time on May 21st, as well as spawn shards in the 10 selected cities!

On July 30, the Superposition Anomaly will take place in Munich! Agents will travel from far and wide to decide this event for their faction, and to finally meet up with old friends (and opponents) again.
If you're also going to Munich, it's important to register with your respective faction tools beforehand so that POCs can plan strategically and assemble teams for the event. Each faction has its own page for registration. Register as early as possible for the anomaly so that your faction has enough time to plan and so you can get access to further information that the POCs might have collected for you!

The Event will be live from Thursday, May 26th @ 16:00 UTC to Monday, June 6th @ 16:00 UTC. During this time, Agents will be able to unlock the Eos Imprint medal by gaining Event Points.
The following actions will reward Event Points:
🔸25 points for each field of 50k+ MU created
🔸16 points for each Portal Scan successfully uploaded
🔸9 points for each link of 1km+ in length created
🔸4 points for each Portal captured
🔸1 point for each Glyph correctly drawn
These the tiers of the medal:
🥇8000 points

🥉2000 points
A new metric will be added to Agents' Profiles to monitor their progress during the event!
Additionally, during the event, Agents will be able to:

Earn your tiered #EosImprint medal from Thurs 26 May 1600 UTC to Mon 6 Jun 1600 UTC by glyphing, capturing, linking, fielding, and scanning.
The first images of the Wayfarer app have been released! The app is still in an early beta version so far, but will be expanded in the future. The following is currently possible:
🔸 All Wayspots in the near vicinity are displayed. This includes Wayspots that have not appeared in any Niantic games.
🔸 Wayspots can be reported. There are more reasons to report than in the Niantic games and includes "Bad photo", "Fake Wayspot", "Too big/high to scan" and others. It is unknown if reported Wayspots will be removed after a successful review.

🔸 The new "VPS" system can be tested with Wayspots where VPS is active. More information about VPS can be found here.

The agents of the Chinese news channel @BehindTheScannerChinese have received confirmation from Thia regarding scans that are made before the #EosImprint event but are uploaded during the event.
These scans will count for the event and will be counted at the time the scan is uploaded. If you have made and collected scans in the last few days, you don't have to worry about them not counting. Conversely, if a scan is made during the event but only uploaded after the event is over, it will not count.

From June 9, 1600 UTC to June 21, 1600 UTC, you'll be able to earn a medal! If you recharge portals with a total of 300,000 XM during this period, you will receive the "Solstice Recharge Challenge" medal. It has only one single tier.
The following bonuses are also active:
🔸 AP for capturing a portal has been increased from 800 to 2,000.
🔸2x Power Cube droprate
🔸Reduced kinetic capsule distance for Power Cubes from 8km to 4km.
🔸30-minute cooldown for drones
🔻Doubled XM cost for hacking, deploying resonators, and upgrading resonators
🔻19% portal decay per day instead of 15%.
