Niantic has released the rules for Phase II of the Kythera Anomaly!
The event will take place from Friday, May 20th @ 1100 UTC to Monday, May 23rd @ 1100 UTC: during this time, Agents will be able to deploy Battle Beacons and win the battles to obtains points for their Faction.
On Saturday, May 21st from 1430 and 1730 local time, NiaSection14 will deploy Rare Battle Beacons in 100 selected play areas.
In addition to the 90 cities which already received their ornaments, Niantic has chosen an additional 10 to complete the list. These cities are:

🔸Dubai, UAE
🔸Denizli, Turkey
🔸Kraków, Poland
🔸Stuttgart, Germany

Scoring
Scoring is the same as Phase I as far as Beacons are concerned. Shards will split 13 points per city to the Factions based on the amount of Shards captured.
⚠ Rare Battle Beacons triggered by the AR Scan Meter will count towards the event score as Agent-Deployed Battle Beacons as well as towards the Kythera Medal! These will spawn at the top of the first hour of Septicycle 2022.20 (Saturday, May 21st @ 0800-0810 UTC)

Additionally, the in-app store will feature a

Wayfarer is getting its own app!
Niantic has announced that they are working on a mobile app for Wayfarer. The beta version will have the ability to scan Wayspots, as you can already do in Ingress and Pokemon GO. It will also feature a map that will show you Wayspots nearby. This is a nice feature for agents who regularly submit Wayspots, as this map will also show Wayspots that don't show up in Ingress due to the distance to other portals being too short.
Developers using the Niantic Lightship platform, as well as Wayfarer Ambassadors, will be testing this app in early beta. New users will then be invited later this year.
More news will be available during the Lightship Summit, which will be held May 24 and May 25 in the U.S.

He explained that the team has had a hard time reproducing the bug and, since the code of the platform Ingress runs on is different between development and production environments (because of anti-cheat and such systems), attempting to find and try out a fix is much harder. This is also due to the fact that some of the low-level code is shared between all Niantic projects and the Ingress team doesn't have access to it, not being able to attempt to debug it.
However, he assured that the team is not ignoring the issue but is in fact trying hard to isolate its cause and fix it for good.

On July 30, the Superposition Anomaly will take place in Munich! Agents will travel from far and wide to decide this event for their faction, and to finally meet up with old friends (and opponents) again.
If you're also going to Munich, it's important to register with your respective faction tools beforehand so that POCs can plan strategically and assemble teams for the event. Each faction has its own page for registration. Register as early as possible for the anomaly so that your faction has enough time to plan and so you can get access to further information that the POCs might have collected for you!

🔸16 points for each Portal Scan successfully uploaded
🔸9 points for each link of 1km+ in length created

The agents of the Chinese news channel @BehindTheScannerChinese have received confirmation from Thia regarding scans that are made before the #EosImprint event but are uploaded during the event.
These scans will count for the event and will be counted at the time the scan is uploaded. If you have made and collected scans in the last few days, you don't have to worry about them not counting.
