Shards and Targets spawned in Lima, Peru at 1600 UTC! In less than 40 minutes, the Resistance already managed to snatch 4!

Not much has changed since the last update, only Mountain View's score was finalised as all the Shards of the Californian city were captured. Stockholm RES also captured the last shard.

With Shards and Targets de-spawned in Asia and Europe, and close to de-spawning in the Americas, these are the final scores for the April Fools' (a.k.a. Shooting Star) Shards.
The Enlightened won in 6 cities against the 4 of the Resistance, who captured 30 Shards against the 36 of the rivals.
4 Shards were left uncaptured: 1 in Berlin, Germany and 3 in Singapore.
No win criteria was announced for this unplanned event, so it is unknown what the consequence of these results will be although the Enlightened came out on top.
Rumor has it that this mini-event was a test for Ingress Events in Q3 2022! If so, you'd better brace yourselves, Shards are coming!

Niantic has released the Release Notes for version 2.91.1!
In addition to the info that Niantic Social is now available for all agents, text color has been adjusted in some areas for better readability. The performance during portal scanning has also been improved.

April 23rd is Community Day across all Niantic Games! Being close to Earth Day, on April 22nd, this Community Day will focus strongly on the safeguard of our planet.
Multiple locations across the world will host an in-person event and Jacksonville, FL, USA in particular will host some special ones including a NL-1331X meetup, a Mission Day and a speech held by John Hanke, Niantic's CEO, at Sandlot JAX, a paid event hosted by GORUCK.
The following XM-degradable Programs will be enabled on your Kinetic Capsules:
