Niantic has announced the New Global Virtual NL-1331 Meetup!
Will start on Tuesday, March 30th 4PM UTC and will end Thursday, April 1st 4PM UTC.

The following changes will be live for the duration of this Virtual Meetup:

- Successfully Glyph hacking (Drone Glyph hacks included) any Portal will mark your attendance at this Virtual Meetup and advance the NL-1331 Meetups Medal by one.
- The default yellow Prime Avatar will be temporarily replaced with the NL-1331X Avatar. (The NL-1331X Avatar will only replace the default yellow Prime Avatar; if you have already selected a custom Avatar, then your selected Avatar will not change.)
- Glyph hack sequences influenced by NL-1331

Niantic has published the release notes for Ingress Prime v2.68.2!

In this version, a new message will appear in the COMM after a new Agent completes the tutorial: "xxxxx completed their Agent Training"

As far as bugfixes are concerned, the Layers button won't turn on anymore on the Portal Details and Mod Details screens, the inventory count will be displayed correctly on Capsule Management and Inventory Details if greater than 2000, and the C.O.R.E. Medal title now has a period after the letter E.

The team is still working on fixing COMM so it doesn't jump back to the oldest update when new updates come in, in addition to an iOS softlock when uploading a Portal Scan.

Earlier today, Niantic's Brian Rose addressed some issues with passcodes for the NL1331 2020 medal (in the picture) not working. The codes on the new NL1331 fleet cards can now be correctly redeemed.

Additionally, Brian reported that, after distributing all the physical merch still in stock (several waves of packs to be sold), the NL1331 2020 medal will be made available to agents via a Digital Kit in the in-app store.

In case of any further issue with your packs, the Niantic shop has a support link containing a phone number or e-mail to which send your inquiries.

Ethan Lepouttre, the famous NL-1331 van driver, directly contacted buyers of the NL-1331 Anniversary Pack which, as reported from several Agents, appear to have loadout cards missing or Character Medal codes not printed on their respective cards.

Ethan stated that a VR loadout card will be mailed by the vendor, for every purchased pack.
Additionally, in address to missing codes from Character biocards, it will be required to provide a picture of the blank cards in order for codes to be e-mailed to the buyer.

We advise that you reply to the e-mail providing the necessary details if you find that your NL-1331 Anniversary Kit is missing such codes.

John Hanke, Niantic's CEO, published a tweet about one hour ago, featuring a picture of what looks like a pair of (smart?) glasses with Niantic branding on its frames. Niantic's partnership with Microsoft and their HoloLens department was already announced at the start of March, and the progress on their new mixed reality technology seems to be proceding swiftly!

Brian has opened a thread on the Community Forums where Agents can write to have their NL-1331 Meetups medal removed, after it was found to be awarded even with normal hacks.

⚠️ Please, only respond to this thread if you want your medal removed. Niantic probably runs an automatic script to remove the medal to everyone who commented under a thread no matter the content of their comment.

Niantic announced a new global challenge: Hack the World!

From Friday, April 9th 16:00 UTC to Monday, April 12th 16:00 UTC, we will be required to hack 3,500,000 unique Portals cumulatively (drone hacks will count)! Reaching this goal will unlock bonuses for the following event, from Friday, April 23rd 16:00 UTC to Friday, April 30th 16:00 UTC.

During the Event Agents will have the following bonuses
- 60 minutes 10 minutes cooldown time of Drone Mark l
- 2x AP for Glyph Hacking (Drone included)
- 100AP per hack on friendly Portals

Niantic published the release notes for Ingress Prime v2.69.1. This one is a big one!

After a long wait, the COMM should now open the most recent update first, without jumping to the oldest update when a new alert or activity comes in.
Additionally, the Layers button has been updated with a temporary placeholder for an upcoming new Layer, and a "Refresh" button has been added in the Subscription section of the Settings to help Agents who might be seeing an account-specific issue with their C.O.R.E. renewal.

Finally, Portal Scans on iOS should no longer softlock the app after tapping Upload Now or Upload Later.

Some terrible news has reached us in the last minutes. Ingress Agent @arcole84, respected and loved by both factions has sadly passed away.

His friends remember him as always happy, wearing a smile and a good nature. Everyone who crossed is path had the chance to share a good time with him. The community loses a friend, a good man, a loving husband, father and grandfather, and sends a particularly kind thought to her inseparable speedy84 and their family.

Given the current restrictions, the Agents closest to him thought about lighting as many beacons as possible on Saturday 17th of April, 12 pm UTC. "Because even if we can't be together irl, we can reunite one last time and light up the sky in memory of our friend Alain."

We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family. May his memory be a blessing.

Niantic just announced a new feature for Ingress Prime: Hackstreak!

With this feature, Agents will be able to earn bonus items and AP through hacking Portals each day, with the highest bonus available after 7 straight days of hacking.

The streak resets on completion of the 7-day series and if a day is skipped. Drone hacks do not count towards the new feature.

For the first 6 days, the first hack in a day will award +500 AP and provide double item output. The 7th day will award 1000 AP and 3X item output on the first hack.

Alongside the new Hackstreak feature, the new Epoch medal (photo) will be added to the scanners with the following tiers:

• Bronze: 2 Full Hackstreak cycles
• Silver: 4 Full Hackstreak cycles
• Gold: 8 Full Hackstreak cycles
• Platinum: 30 Full Hackstreak cycles
• Onyx: 60 Full Hackstreak cycles
