@IUENG
Niantic announced the release of a new Ingress Prime update for Android. Version v2.63.2 is a hotfix to address an issue which caused a black screen on some 32-bit Android devices.

This version will be visible on the Play Store only and will become the minimum version required. Android users with previous versions will be required to update.

@IUENG
Today, Brian Rose commented under a pretty critical forum post about the state of Ingress.

In this message he once again expressed his commitment to "iterating and improving the game", and explained how he tries to have a more direct connection with the players by reading as many forum threads and Play Store reviews as possible, and joining First Saturday Zoom calls whenever possible.

He addressed the issues regarding communication, saying that not hearing from him that often may have sparked in some players a sensation of conflict between Niantic and them, which is not how him or any of the Ingress team members feel. Additionally, Brian stated that the team is "working to hire" a new community manager to improve on this front!

We would like to join Brian in calling all agents to action and help this small team understand what, in our opinion, works well and what needs to be improved.
To do this, follow these simple steps:

• Collect your thoughts and try to think of a fair rating for Ingress based on its current state. (Are you absolutely certain that Ingress deserves only 1 star? Absolutely nothing works?)
• Open the Play Store or the App Store, and leave a review of Ingress Prime. Don't stop after clicking the amount of stars you think is fair, but explain what you like the most about the app and what you think needs to be improved.
• Consider adding one or two stars to your review, if you feel like Ingress improves over time. Keep it updated, let the team know that you love and care about the game just like we do.
N.B. Google tends to not count old reviews, so if you already reviewed Ingress, consider updating and reposting your review.

The dev team really seems committed to keeping this game alive and to returning Ingress to its previous glory, but we need to help. Ingress is the community around it: we are all still here complaining about it because we love it and want to see it thrive, even if some of us don't like to admit it openly. Let's show that the Ingress community is still very much alive!

We are proud to present to you the design of the C.O.R.E subscription medal! It has been pushed to the Vanguards who we previously reported to have the Subscription flair on their profile!

The C.O.R.E subscription will come to our scanners soon, its content is still unknown.

@IUENG
The intel map has been updated with filters for Captured portals, Visited portals and Scout Controlled portals!

This is the first time that agents can check up which portals they have visited, captured or scanned, and has been backfilled for all agents above L3.

A unique portal indicator will be added to the scanner in the next update!

Thanks @InvestigateXM for the report!

@IUENG
Additionally, Agent @fisher01 reported about an "Inventory" feature on the Intel Map which appears to be reserved to C.O.R.E. subscribers only!
(The C.O.R.E. subscription is not yet available, but it will be in the coming days).

@IUENG
Agents, subscriptions are almost here!

C.O.R.E., which stands for Community, Offers, Recognition, and Expansion, is an optional monthly subscription service for Ingress Agents, for $4.99 USD per month! (or your local currency equivalent)

As a C.O.R.E. subscription member, you will get access to the following benefits:

* 500 capacity expansion to Inventory
* C.O.R.E. Agent Profile Medal
* C.O.R.E. Agent Codename Flair
* Monthly 2,500 CMU grant*
* 1 C.O.R.E. Loadout Kit every month
* View Inventory and acquired Portal Keys on Intel Map

*Agents who subscribe within the first 30 days from launch date will receive a one time bonus grant of 7,000 CMU total, and resume the monthly 2,500 CMU grant from the second month.

@IUENG
Today, the details for the C.O.R.E. subscription were released. While reminding that the subscription is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL and it's not require to be able to play Ingress, we would like to offer some clarifications from Brian Rose, who answered questions from the Agents on the Community Forum with regard to both the subscription and the new Portal History feature on the Intel Map.

- If you subscribe on either Android or iOS, your subscription will be valid even if you migrate to the other OS. Source
- The C.O.R.E. Profile Medal and any rewarded C.O.R.E. Loadout Kit will be kept even if you cancel your C.O.R.E. subscription. You will need to return to below 2000 items in your inventory to hack any Portal again. Source
- The Portal History feature will come to the Ingress Prime app in the next update. Source
- Requested features of an "Invert" button and a "Drone Activity" layer for the new Portal History filter on Intel is being worked on. Source
- If the layer dropdown is not displaying correctly, try hard-refreshing your browser page (Shift+reload). For any other (reproducible) issue, open a bug report here. Source

P.S. The C.O.R.E. subscription trailer, contained the following passcode: COMMUNITYOFFERSRECOGNITION (1x ITO EN (-), 1x ITO EN (+), 10x Hypercube, 1x SBUL).

@IUENG
Brian Rose confirmed that the XM will remain white - after the end of the Winter Event - at least until the Portal History feature is released, as it improves visibility for Visited Portal indicators.

@IUENG
The C.O.R.E. subscription is finally here!

Check the in-app store of your Scanner to purchase it!

@IUENG
The C.O.R.E. subscription also enables the Inventory function on the Intel Map, which shows your in-game items but also Portal Keys, their amount and the code of the Capsule they're contained in.

@IUENG
C.O.R.E. Additional Details

• Prices are different in different regions and countries due to a variety of factors, like currency conversion, VAT, taxes or local fees.

• The medal will remain also if you unsubscribe or cancel your auto-renewal, instead the codename flair is active only while your subscription is active

• Cancelling the subscription just cancels the auto-renewal, doesn't cancel the previously paid subscription neither gives refunds. You can do it through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

• Before auto-renewal occurs, generally 24 hours, Google or Apple will create a pending payment. You will only be charged on your renewal date once per month.

• Niantic is working to update the Intel Map inventory list to show "None" near portal keys that aren't in Key Locker or Capsule

• Intel Map inventory in some cases is showing some random codes instead of the correct one. Niantic is already working on the problem.

@IUENG
Niantic has stated that effective immediately, due to an issue with Google Play Store pricing templates for C.O.R.E., the price of the subscription will increase or decrease in some countries. This change was necessary to uniform the price of C.O.R.E. to the 7.000 CMU bundle already available in the store.

If you already purchased the subscription, you will receive an email in 7 days notifying you of the aforementioned change and, if the price for your country should increase, you will have to explicitly accept the new price or auto-renewal will be deactivated.

Additionally, Niantic stated that they will grant the bonus of 7,000 CMU also for the march renewal if the subscription is purchased within 60 days from the release (up from the previous 30).

N.B. This variation only affects Android users.

@IUENG
Niantic opened applications for a newly created role in the Ingress community: the XM Ambassadors (XMAs).

As specified on the community forum, a XMA is "passionate about Ingress, excited to engage with other community members in the Ingress Forum, share gameplay tips, and share constructive, actionable feedback with the Ingress team."

30 Agents (15 per Faction) will be selected across Levels, regions and languages to beta test Ingress and help Niantic with valuable feedback on the game.
To be eligible you must be active in the Ingress community forum and adhere to the Ingress Community Guidelines and the Agent Protocol

More details on the program, including requirements and rewards may be found in the source. Applications close on February 18, 2021 5PM PST

@IUENG
After their commitment for a change, pledged following the rise of the anti-racist movement #blacklivesmatter, Niantic has undertaken actions aimed at "supporting our Black and underrepresented minority employees, empowering all employees to combat systemic racism and social injustice, and creating powerful, scalable impact through the culture, ideas, and role models we help to create."

As one of the multiple results of this effort, Niantic has created the Black Developers Initiative program (BDI), providing access, opportunity, resources, and mentorship to Black game and AR developers.

"The BDI mission is to fund new projects from Black game development teams - ranging in size from newer, indie teams to larger, veteran studios - for the purpose of building game prototypes that can live on the Niantic platform. Selected BDI teams will be provided with funding for five months of development, executive mentorship, and development support from members of the Niantic team. They will also join a growing community of peers and program alumni who they can continue to build relationships with beyond the duration of the program. At the end of the five months, development teams will have created a playable prototype and a pitch deck for a real-world augmented reality game."

In the article, John Hanke stated that Niantic has already signed a Black and Women-led game development studio, W!CKED SAiNTS Studio, and shared a youtube video which presents the new entry in the Niantic world and explains the partnership between the two. It is visible at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVENAoYD83U!

@IUENG
A new update has been released for Ingress Prime!

v2.65.1 brings the previously announced Portal History feature to the Ingress app!
After all Agents will have access to this new update, the markers you can see in the picture above will be added to the game to highlight visited, captured or scanned Portals.

N.B. The team is already aware of a known issue where Portal History rings disappear when a Portal's Level changes, and are working on a fix.

The only bugfix reported in the changelog involves the regional scoreboard timer, which went negative after a septicycle ended.

@IUENG
This is how the new Portal History looks like in the newest update! Red shows Portals you have captured, Purple is portals you have visited, and Yellow shows all portals you have claimed Scout Controller at. With this update, the markers for the volatile Scout Controller portals have been hidden from the normal map view unless you enable the Scout Controller layer.

Thank you @InvestigateXM for reporting
