Agent @Fordrax (Jari), member of the Enlightened Lions and Wolves of Belgium passed away last night at the age of 31.
His community remembers him as an extraordinary agent who played almost exclusively on foot. He participated in numerous events from Operations to Anomalies. He was always willing to help locally, nationally and internationally.
A beacon-lighting event has been organised by his friends at 11 UTC on Friday December 4th, the day of his funeral.
From the staff, our condolences to his family and friends.

In this version, a new News Feed has been added to to COMM, containing the latest updates from the Ingress Team and Niantic Project researchers. In addition, a SCAN PORTAL button has been added to Portal Details for faster access to Portal Scanning, and the upload confirmation dialog has been reduced to a toast, which doesn't require an additional tap to dismiss.
Among the fixed bugs:
• The Glyph Hack "Bonus items:" window will not flash then close any longer.
• The "Black Links" issue on some 32-bit phones was resolved.
• The Kinetic Capsule distance counter won't round up to 8.0/8km when Agents are actually at 7.9km walked.
• The Android Back button will now skip the item animation in the in-app Store.

Players are reporting that a proper bug reporting tool has been added to the Ingress Forums!
This platform, in addition to reporting bugs, allows Agents to upvote the ones that they deem more urgent or important.
Examples: COMM jumps and Low FPS in the map screen
To avoid having duplicate or inaccurate reports, cluttering the tool or plain misusing it, BEFORE posting your bug report please read this thread carefully, then adapt your report to these indications.
You also might want to read the "Known Issues" section to avoid reporting issues that Niantic is already aware of.

Niantic provided the answer we were waiting for, regarding volatile portals briefly appearing in the Intel Map!
Starting now, the Scanner and Intel Map will now display Volatile Scout Controller Portals using a yellow Portal marker. These Portals will earn 3 Scout Controller Points towards the Scout Controller medal when Agents claim its Scout Controller status.
Niantic revealed that this new mechanic will allow them to "experiment with scaling Portal markers globally across the Portal Network that can provide Agents with additional information about each Portal in the future."

Portal photos should now display correctly instead of failing to load on the Portal Details screen. In the COMM News Feed, fonts and colors were adapted to the rest of COMM and, finally, Agents can now create only 1 Ingress account per email address across Google, Facebook, or Apple login methods.

The issue seem to be originating at Google, since several services are not responding such as YouTube, Meet and the Assistant network.
