Niantic released their new version of Wayfarer, v3.1!

In this release, evaluation criteria have been reworked into 4 categories to reframe around the concept that Niantic products should "encourage us to explore the world, exercise and be social with each other".
• Eligibility Criteria - if a Nomination supports the vision mentioned above, it meets these criteria and is eligible for consideration by the community
• Acceptance Criteria - a Nomination must meet all of these to be accepted as a Wayspot
• Rejection Criteria - if the Nomination meets even one of these it must be rejected.
• Content Guidelines - additional guidance on how to craft and evaluate Nominations and edits.

Additionally, Dark Mode has been added to the Wayfarer website. It will be enabled by default if your browser is set to use Dark Mode, and a handy toggle is available in the settings.

Niantic also reminded the next steps they'll take in developing Wayfarer:
• Update the Showcase
• Update the onboarding and training
• Update the review interface
• Release some videos about Niantic's Wayspot review process
• Allowing Pokémon Go players to submit portals from level 38 before the end of the year

🇵🇱 A Wayfarer challenge has been announced by Niantic on the Wayfarer forum!

Agents of level 10 or upper that review Polish nominations will be able to participate. The challenge will start on November 18th, at 00:00 local time and end on November 25th, at 00:00 local time.

Goal of the challenge is to create as many new Wayspots as possible (Agents are still required to evaluate Wayspots adhering to the Evaluation Criteria!) before November 25th, to be rewarded with in-game items!

Tier 1 Unlock - 5,000 New Wayspots
10 Hypercubes and 1 Wayfarer upgrade
Tier 2 Unlock- 10,000 New Wayspots
10 Rare Heat Sinks and 1 Wayfarer upgrade

Niantic released their notes about their latest update to Ingress Prime, v2.59.2!

This version, other than updating the OSM tiles on the map, fixes two bugs regarding the wrong Agent name being briefly displayed on Resonators and the impossibility to tap on the Attack or Deploy carousel and advance to the tapped item.

Agent @Fordrax (Jari), member of the Enlightened Lions and Wolves of Belgium passed away last night at the age of 31.

His community remembers him as an extraordinary agent who played almost exclusively on foot. He participated in numerous events from Operations to Anomalies. He was always willing to help locally, nationally and internationally.

A beacon-lighting event has been organised by his friends at 11 UTC on Friday December 4th, the day of his funeral.

Niantic announced the new version of Ingress Prime, v2.60.2!

In this version, a new News Feed has been added to to COMM, containing the latest updates from the Ingress Team and Niantic Project researchers. In addition, a SCAN PORTAL button has been added to Portal Details for faster access to Portal Scanning, and the upload confirmation dialog has been reduced to a toast, which doesn't require an additional tap to dismiss.

Among the fixed bugs:

• The Glyph Hack "Bonus items:" window will not flash then close any longer.
• The "Black Links" issue on some 32-bit phones was resolved.
• The Kinetic Capsule distance counter won't round up to 8.0/8km when Agents are actually at 7.9km walked.
• The Android Back button will now skip the item animation in the in-app Store.
