And with the latest Ingress Update comes, timely, the Teardown by our friends at FevGames!
These are the latest hidden features in Ingress Prime v2.46.1!

Battle Beacon
- The amount of total rounds in a battle has been made dynamic, while the default seems to remains at 6 rounds. This means that this property is now configurable.

App Ratings
- A new flag was added to draw a "Rate our app" notice in the settings page. We share the authors' thoughts in saying that the current rating for both iOS and Android Scanners is pretty low, but the amount of work the team put in from the "scuffed beyond belief" release is considerable given the improvements brought to the present version of the game.

Subscription store
- This feature, for now, is clearly under early development, so nothing specific can be said at the moment. Only the icon of a lock has been found in relation to this section of the Scanner.

Fireworks!
- The mysterious "unknown5" powerup has finally been unveiled! It is available in 3 different formats: ENL, RES and Neutral.
- This powerup falls under the same category as the "APEX" powerup, which means it will be applied to the player, not to portals. Our guess is that they will be displayed on the map at a player's location and they seem to be tied to Battle Victory but, until new data is discovered, nothing else is known about this new item.

Sound
- New audio files have been discovered: the majority of them regards Subscriptions and Battles.
BattleBeaconDeploy, CheckpointAlert, FinalCheckpointAlert, FireworksExplosion, FinalFlagLand, FireworkLoop, FireworkWhistlesOneshot, PurchasedItemFlyout, CountupLoop, CountupOneshot, NonItemFlyout.
By listening to these files, Items and CMU are "flying out". Could these be rewards for the subscriptions?

Performance management
- Niantic is now monitoring the time taken by Unity and the whole app to load, which might indicate Niantic's intent to shorten those times.

A big thank you to the FevGames Team and to Fevenis for this article!

@IUENG

IUENG Virtual IFS, 6th June 2020

@IUENG is proud to announce the first virtual event run by a telegram channel!

The Ingress First Saturday will start at 12.00 UTC (mid-day), and will last 2 hours.

Feel free to join us, to be part of the craziest virtual event ever done!

The base city will be Udine in Italy, home of admin @GigaThunder, and the base portal will be "Castello di Udine", a Castle in the center of the city. First build, according to a legend, by Attila the Hun in 452, rebuilt after an earthquake in 1517 to host one of the first parliaments in the world. Today it is home for some museums and the big square in front of it is used for music and theatre events.

@IUENG
Our friends at FevGames tore down the latest Ingress Prime version: v2.47.2! Here are the new developments in the game.

Battle Beacons
The saga continues: rewards for Battles will apparently be "tiered". We can also see the new "Battle Tied" beacon and a new string: DEFAULT_BATTLE_BEACON_REWARD_TIER

Achievements
These are new in the game: we are not referring to Badges, these might likely be temporary tasks for Agents, much like the ones proposed by the known application AoD.

Subscriptions
Some of you may not like this...
Apparently this new feature will have something to do with Inventory Space, although it's still way too early to tell which benefits will be sold with Subscriptions.
These strings were found:
IntentorySlotsMax
InventorySlotsPerMonth
SubscriptionDetails
SubscriptionManageButtonAndroidUrl
SubscriptionManageButtonIosUrl
VoiceoverClip subscription_renewed = 219

Drones
A new item Niantic.Ingress.Drone which can be either "RECALLED" or "DEPLOYED" was found in the game code. According to FevGames, "It fits under the category of portal remote viewing, but has a cool down timer."
The
code for this feature is well obfuscated, there's nearly nothing to be said about them.

Once again, a huge thanks to the guys at FevGames and Fevenis in particular for their work!

Agents found an interesting bug in the latest Ingress Prime version. Under certain conditions, the Dronenet button will appear in the main menu and show the screen you can view in this video. Further clarification from Brian Rose, producer, specified that this is not the final feature, rather just a technical bug due to the code for Dronenet being only partially present in v2.47.2

Thanks @InvestigateXM for the extensive report!

@IUENG
💚💙Fair Play

On Sunday May 31st, agents from both Resistance and Enlightened worked together in The Hague, NL to create this fieldart. It doesn't matter with which style you play, where you play or what faction you play for...

All that matters is that you keep it fair!!
#xffieldart #cifp #ingressfairplay

Thanks @HaagsKampuh for the report!

@IUENG
A new Ingress Prime update will be rolling out to your scanners in the next days, v2.48.2!
Here's what's new in this release!

• Added a loading icon to Portal Keys to differentiate between neutral Portals and Portal Keys not yet done loading in inventory.

Bug fixes:
• On Android, fixed L4 Portals from color shifting when zooming in or out.
• On Android, fixed Sign in with Facebook from hanging on sign in.
• When reading COMM Activities and Chat messages, COMM doesn’t automatically jump to the latest message.
• Fixed initial stutter or hang when starting Portal Scan uploads.
• Updated missing translations for existing languages.
•Added updated voiceover audio for Hypercube.

Additionally, the Niantic team is addressing duplicate or conflicting Ingress Accounts on a small number of Agents and has sent an e-mail to involved users. Check if you have new mail from their @nia-ops.com domain!

@IUENG
Agents are reporting that Niantic is sending out surveys to map out users' preference in relation with Subscription services. They provided some options asking which one is the most appealing to users, and asked a rating on the hypothetical price of 11.99US$, 9.99US$, 7.99US$, 4.99US$ and 3.99US$ for the chosen option.

Check your inbox and let Niantic hear your thoughts!

@IUENG
Kind of overdue on our part... but it's here! FevGames has tore down Ingress Prime v2.48.2 and discovered some important hidden new features! Here they are:

Dronenet
- This is known as Drone Mark I, so there will most likely be more iterations of this feature.
- Drones have been found able to move, be recalled, hack and glyph hack. At this point it's confirmed that Ingress will join other Niantic Games in having some remote interactions.
- New drone-related audio clips have been found.

Battle Beacons
- Audio has been implemented for this feature.

Miscellanea
- Niantic has reintroduced Debug Mode for their own testing. Don't even think of trying doing something nasty with it: you won't be able to use it.
This mode renders the player able to: Request Item or Key, Teleport, Performance Logging, Skip Onboarding, Unlock all, Adjust level.
- A sound file for a Kinetic Capsule has also been found in the game, but was not included in this teardown.

As always we would like to thank FevGames and Fevenis in particular for their work behind these articles. Make sure to read the full, detailed Teardown at this link.

@IUENG
Some of you may have noticed a free beacon in the in-app store. There is a reason why.

Last week, Resistance Agent @Segtisalgoe passed away, and he was much loved and appreciated by players of both Factions. Niantic decided to make the Meetup Beacon free in order to deploy them on June 6th at 21:00 UTC to commemorate him. The gesture will be accompanied by a dual linkstar near Antwerp, Belgium by his friends and a "Schol @Segtisalgoe" commbomb.

@IUENG
Niantic has released two articles on their support website, explaining the new November Lima Drone Network feature and how to deploy a Mark I Drone! Check them out at these links:

What is the DroneNet?
How do I deploy Drone Mark I?

From these articles we finally are able to understand the complete functioning of this new item.

• Drone Mark I allows Agents to Hack or Glyph Hack a Portal once.
• Drone Mark I cannot be used to complete Missions, retrieve Portal Keys, or perform any other actions.
•After Drone Mark I has been successfully deployed, there is a 60-minute cooldown.

More details in the next posts!

In this video, we can observe the basic functioning of Drones. Their "Move" ability and hacking phase.

More details about their mechanics:

• Agents can deploy Drone Mark I to any neutral, friendly, or enemy Portal that is visible on the Scanner’s map screen.

• If the Portal Alignment changes, the Drone is automatically recalled.

• Agents can cause a Drone recall, but can only see their own Drone.

• A Notification Marker will appear in the center of the menu button whenever a Drone is available or it is ready to move from its current position.

"Deploying Drones will also contribute to Agents’ stats, incrementing metrics for Hacks, Glyph Hack Points, and Longest Hacking Streak. Drone hacks do
not count
towards Unique Portals Visited. However, they will increment new Agent stats for Unique Portals Drone Visited, Furthest Drone Flight (calculated from its initial Target Portal), and Drone Hacks."

@IUENG
Starting now, L10+ Agents have access to review Wayspots on the Wayfarer Platform. Additionally, Wayfarer Agreements will increase the Recon medal count by 2 point each!

Niantic has temporarily disabled Portal Edit suggestions to address a problem allowing Portals to be bunched up in a same location.

Additionally, it's been requested that locations affected are reported to Niantic directly using this form.

@IUENG
As you may have noticed, a new version of Ingress Prime is slowly rolling out to all devices. It it version 2.50.1!

Here is the changelog:

• Dronenet improvements: See Drone Mark I in Drone Footage view, and watch it travel to its Target Portal. Note that only you can view your own Mark I; it isn’t visible to other Agents.
• Moved the Main Menu button down closer to the bottom screen edge to prioritize viewing more of the map screen.

Bug fixes
• Reduced the intensity of Rainbow XM, which should help improve Portal visibility, especially in densely populated areas.
• The MOVE button is automatically re-enabled in Drone Footage view when Mark I cooldown ends.
• Fixed any order missions so Agents can complete mission waypoints in any order. Portal indicators will display on all mission waypoints in view.
