Registration via the event system is still required. However, the Agent Name and e-mail pairing will be double-checked. You'll be notified if they do not correspond.
In addition, for the onsite Anomaly medal only, Agents will be required to register for an Anomaly Medal ticket and perform at least thirteen (13) successful hacks of Anomaly Portals during the three-hour Anomaly competition.
These details are only valid for ground Agents. Nothing has changed in regard to remote support medal procedures, as stated by Andrew Krug.

Niantic has confirmed the changes to the Portal Nomination process and provided some more details on it.
The team confirmed that remote submission with already existing photos is available, and increased the range to 25km from the user's position. This change could be reverted if the team sees a drop in the quality of submissions.

Agents from around the world found an interesting detail in the output of Niantic's Pride passcode.
Among the numerous resonators, every Agent who redeemed the code was awarded 1969 XM. Why was this precise number chosen?
On June 28, 1969 the police raided the Stonewall Inn a well-known recreational tavern in Manhattan, New York City frequented by members of the gay community. This generated a series of spontaneous, violently-repressed demonstrations by members of the global LGBT movement, that are today widely considered to constitute the most important event leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States.
Since that memorable day, June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month and many pride events are held during this month to recognise the impact LGBT people have in the world.
This celebration was also officially acknowledged by US Presidents Bill Clinton in 1999/2000, Barack Obama from 2009 to 2016 and Donald Trump in 2019!

Niantic has created a new type of competition during the Ingress First Saturday Events! It's the Artwork Competition: a competition focused on highlighting themes that are relevant to the global community through original works of art made by agents all over the Earth.
"If you can think of something that makes you wonder, that makes you move and see and explore and enjoy the world, please share it with the Ingress Community as a work of art and enter the global competition."
Artworks will gain more points from Niantic if they:
• have a strong aesthetic appeal
• celebrate the cross-faction Ingress community
• represent the desire to explore new places
• inspire Ingress agents to be physically active
• communicate a feeling of mystery, wonder, or surprise
• have a thematic association with the month or season
This competition will run on a quarterly schedule, choosing 3 winners each quarter.
Cutoff for submissions for the first competition will be July 19th, 5PM Pacific; the winners will be selected by August 4th. Artwork selected in this first competition will be featured as IngressFS media from September to November.

Answers for the AMA of June were published! Here are the highlights for this month!
Ingress Prime
• Arabic and other RTL languages are on the devs' to-do list.
• L17 will be introduced, according to Andrew, but not in the immediate future. Parity is the priority.
• "UI update 1" will be on Prime v2.27: the scanner will turn to a purple tint, for players who didn't like it being too blue.
• An option to share the profile/stats from Prime will be added in later versions.
• New servers will ultimately resolve stuck beacons and related issues.
• Intel is not priority. First come the client and the servers.
Events
• Currently, no characters will be present at Myriad Anomalies
• Only MDs in Europe will be the ones after Anomalies, for the second half of 2019.
• The issue on Portals for June IFS has been identified.
• New Field Test Events will take place in September.
• The first of Monthly Events tied to the Nemesis Sequence will be announced soon!
• Feeds like thrakazog.com won't be coming back.
• We can expect more medals like the Osiris Victory Medal
OPR
• A way of seeing which portals you have submitted and their status might be implemented, but it's not priority.
NIA Ops
• GPS locking is NOT allowed. (Should be a nobrainer, but...)
• Agents that created accounts with Niantic's Facebook Login system are going to be able to access the Mission Creator and OPR tools soon.
