After the new Ingress Prime scanner update, the community is not reacting good about the VR duplication being removed from Quantum Capsules. Andrew Krug explains the point of view of Niantic commenting in a reddit discussion.

Also, it reads like we are removing items from the game. We aren't. In the future you'll have to use your VR items more strategically or choose to use your rare items more. Do you use the VRMH to get 12 extra hacks or the RMH you can duplicate for 8 extra?
