A #message for The #Acolyte

"I was catching up on news in Operation Essex and came across this open letter to the Acolyte from Agent @thedeacon1972. He raises some valid concerns, and since (as he correctly points out) the Acolyte does not have a social media presence herself, I figured I would do my part to ensure this message gets the attention it deserves.

So, Acolyte... ball's in your court. How do you respond to these well reasoned and well articulated concerns?

Dear Acolyte,

I don´t know whether you will read this, since you don´t have an social media account. But this won´t stop me from speaking out, maybe +Hank Johnson can relate this message to you if necessary.

You and Jahan were putting on a show of cameraderie at the Via Noir anomalies. And why not? You had a common enemy: +Oliver Lynton-Wolfeand his tecthulhu. The combined energy of agents of both factions ripped the tecthulhu apart, which was a good thing. But instead of learning from past mistakes of other people, you dive headfirst into the same mess again.

Your people found the cave where OLW's tecthulhu had been built. I suspect that the energies the Enlightened agents built by winning Via Noir helped you there (There´s no doubt in my mind that I´d be writing the same thing to Jahan, if the Resistance had won). Now intel has started to emerge that you are actually trying to build your own tecthulhu. Have you completely lost your mind, Acolyte? At the first attempt, OLW sacrificed two human lives - +Susanna Moyer and whatever the transition you induced left of +Klue S. - to built it. At the end, maybe as an act of poetic justice, he lost his own mind over it. How bad does it have to become, Acolyte, that you abstain from your greed for power?

I've often spoken up loudly against you, Acolyte (as I did against Jahan), and some Enlightened agents told me I should give you the benefit of doubt. I will do so, Acolyte. If your only intention is to salvage Klue and Susanna with this abomination of a machine, every agent - blue and green - will help you. Afterwards dismantle it and blast all pieces including the plans to build it into oblivion. But if you try to control anybody or anything with it, all Resistance agents and the bigger part of Enlightened agents will blast this thing apart again. You think Via Noir was the best we could do? You´ll be in for a big surprise...>>

To my knowledge, The Acolyte has not yet responded to the open letter from Agent @thedeacon1972 I published yesterday, but Hank Johnson just shared an interesting theory about the Tecthulhu… It’s worth a read and I look forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments…

"That letter to the Acolyte has had me thinking… I am hoping she will respond — and folks should not take my thoughts here as a replacement for that — but I wanted to throw this idea out there so that you could help add to it.

Here’s my theory — well, it starts with a question. What if the machine we’ve been calling the Tecthulhu is always a manifestation of its creator?

Perhaps the reason Lynton-Wolfe’s Tecthulhu was a fearful object of unbridled power was because it travelled into our reality through Lynton-Wolfe himself… a man driven by a thirst for power disguised as knowledge and science.

I’ve been thinking of it like light and colored glass… The light took on Lynton-Wolfe’s hue as it passed through him.

Perhaps even Howcraft’s visions were similarly colored by their imaginations and perceptions — tinted with their particular brand of fear and darkness.

The deeper theory is that the Tecthulhu is not one thing, it is something waiting to manifest — and in the act of manifestation reflects its creator.

PAC published another update on his blog about the Tecthulhu:

"I was listening in (with permission, of course) on a conversation Dr. Wright was having with some members of Operation Essex.

They were discussing Devra Bogdanovich, and Wright — in the Socratic style he employs so often — was using the questions to attempt to find Bogdanovich’s motives in all the recent events that have occurred. I’m talking, of course, about the takedown of Lynton-Wolfe’s dark machine…

Here are the questions Wright posed to the Essexians:

How did the recursion after Abaddon affect Bogdanovich — has she come clean about what she did in her past iteration and can we trust her?

Does she know more than she revealed about the Tecthulhu, or does she have further information she did not want to fall into the wrong hands?

What is her current relationship with Hubert Farlowe, and was he involved in her highly orchestrated plan to take down Lynton-Wolfe?

The point of these questions of course, is not to fact-find. To my knowledge, very little information actually exists about Devra’s plan against Lynton-Wolfe, asides from the fact that it succeeded and it required her absence during the #ViaNoir Anomalies.

I find the exercise interesting, however. It ultimately leads to one simple question and it’s one I don’t have the answer for: What were Bogdanovich’s motives in the recent events of #ViaNoir?
