Agents we would like to announce our first ever trip to Kazakhstan! We will be visiting the cities of Astana and Karaganda on May 11th - May 12th. We will continue with tradition by doing dead drops in each city and the agent stat character badge competition. The kit will include the 2017 Devra medal card, NL1331A badge for each purchased kit (pushed to scanner), and the limited edition NL1331 Kazakhstan pin. We look forward to meeting many new and veteran agents!

The team asks themselves: if the Shapers/N'zeer delivered intel to those from ancient times, what would it look like if there was no scanner, no intel map...? How could the earliest Agents have been influenced to build and do things without technology? How could they be tracked? How could their efforts be heard?
Second of its series, our PLP reminds us of the energies reciprocity in the game and in our lives.
Over 1000 feet of reflective materials will be adhered to nearly invisible fabric with floating images on it. In this project, we not only find the locations, but we make them, and the status of the in-game Portal will control lights and sounds of the creation in a feedback loop. It's an incentive to build some art controlled by augmented reality in the stunning redwoods of Navarro, CA.

Niantic announced that in preparation for the launch of Ingress Prime, the format of Mission Days will be temporarily changed from Events starting on May 26th until Events coming after Q4 anomalies.
With the new format you’ll be using a map that Mission Day organizers will distribute either via hard copy or electronically. It will contain a list of portals that you will be required to hack and a new optional element that is best described as a "Portal challenge" where you are asked to perform a task at a specific Portal. Complete a certain number of these tasks image specific time frame to be eligible for the Mission Day medal.
In addition to these changes, Niantic is temporarily closing the Mission Day application.

As requested by their post, we asked Niantic some questions about the new Mission Days mechanics!
Will the portals be in the same game area?
This is up to the Mission Day POCs.
Will the mission day map be distributed some days before the event?
That's what we are aiming for. It is similar to what we have done for other Mission Days in the Asia Region.
Will the task be an Ingress action or an actual action like taking a picture?
Probably a mix of both.
Will the time frame be big enough to leave Agents the opportunity to do hacks at night before their flight back?
When check-in occurs is typically decided by the Mission Day POCs. That said, with having the maps in advance, there should be no reason to not do them in advance as sometimes Agents choose to do.
