"Unfortunately, plans change and it can be hard at times to give concrete answers as the best laid plans can often go astray. I can say though with a high degree of certainty, over 90%, that in the coming weeks there will finally be an answer on what is going to occur as it relates to Ingress events. Specifically, the when and where and with a healthy dose of advance notice.

I've seen the plan personally myself and know it was approved. This is more than has occurred in the past when were just in the planning stages. Events aren't being paused because of Ingress prime. But the immediate events might be slightly different than traditional events to leverage the anticipated influx of new players and to get veterans back in the swing of things before we launch a more traditional event format. Stay tuned. I think a lot of people will be happy with the information that is going to come out."

#Anomalies

Agents,

NIA researchers are hard at work uncovering the nature, locations and dates of future Ingress XM Anomalies.

At this stage, we can confirm that there will be no city-specific XM Anomalies during the first quarter of 2018. However, a new kind of Faction versus Faction global XM event is predicted to manifest in March. Additional details of this event will be released in the coming weeks.

We expect our research, which will yield a complete list of Anomalies that will be occurring through May of 2019, to be completed by February 13th. We anticipate needing your assistance at that time in compiling the full information from the portal network.

Badges
- Previous NL events will not count towards the tiered badge
- Andrew would like to make a tiered badge for the participation of the IFS

Bans
- Agents while been temporarely banned cannot play with new accounts, this would fall under multi-accounting
- NIA OPS doesn’t typically consider faction as an input when considering if a TOS violation has occurred.
- The majority of ban appeals are reviewed within 48 hours. Some appeals are escalated for further review which may take considerably longer;
- NIA Ops is aware and is investigating about GoldFish

OPR
- The general issue surrounding portals “in limbo” is still being worked on. They hope to resolve this in the next several months.
- Mine sites are treated the same was a military grounds.
- Faction-bias valuation solution is on the development roadmap and they hope to have a solution in the next few months

TOS
- NIA OPS says that in general, third-party tools are a no-no. Tools that shortcut the intended challenges of the game (like the glyph hack) are against the rules

Events
- Ethan wants to bring the November Lima experience to Latin America. However, the logistics for that are difficult and are still being discussed internally
- The Niantic Team is working activetely on holding a Camp Navarro styled event in Europe
- All of the information about the anomaly will be released on February 13th. It might be released in pieces. It might be released as a single source. If it is released in pieces, your help will be required to compile it
- Niantic has put a pause to processing any new Mission Days as they sort out things related to Ingress Prime’s release

Vanguards
- The Vanguards have been a great addition to Ingress. They work very hard to provide objective insights on many many topics in addition to participating in various other programs. Their contributions are very much appreciated.

Other
- Decoded hashes for 13MR were made public following the event. (Link of it in the source)
- The missing EXO5 coins of the supporter packs picked up in Antwerp are being (or will be soon) shipped to Agents
- Currently the only merchandise sales licenses are provided are for Anomaly related merchandise to the POCs
- NIA OPS says that you can write to the Support using any language and that they can reply in English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese
- The faction and how many reports are submitted, do not play in to the decision to remove a portal
- Krug did not read all of the NiantiClaus letters yet, there were a lot.
- The Niantic Team are preparing, and anticipating, for a wave of new players for Prime. As such, reconfiguring the onboarding and tutorials is a big priority.
- The trusted reporter scheme is going to be expanded to cover new areas
