Throughout the years we're proud to have watched as both our Enlightened and Resistance Agents grew, formed communities, and developed relationships that thrived via Ingress.

As we approach our 5th year anniversary, we're asking you to share a picture of your Ingress family. You know who they are; those who went with you to your first XM Anomaly event, your regular farming crew, or even the Agents who helped mentor you at the start of your Ingress journey.

Starting now until October 10, post a photo of your Ingress family on social using the hashtag #MyIngressFamily. We’ll then look through submissions and highlight a few photos as a celebration of Ingress for our anniversary - with permission of course.

An update on OPR submissions

Agents,

Since OPR’s Portal Submissions were re-opened, we have been energized by the new and interesting Portals being discovered and shared for analysis by the OPR community.

Please be aware that some OPR submissions, especially those in areas with high concentrations of existing Portals, may take longer to process. We will, in some cases, be performing additional analysis on these Candidate Portals to help ensure high Portal quality. In the meantime, you may not receive updates on your Portal submission. Be assured that each submission will be processed, though not always in the order in which it was received.

We encourage you to explore new Portals in areas further afield, where the Portal Network remains ripe for development.

- A new feature is coming in OPR to stop submitting duplicate portals.

- Niantic team is investigating a way to identify off-site rechargers at the 2018 Anomalies, although the decision to not award the Anomaly Badge to off-site rechargers at Q4 Anomalies is final.

- Vanguards will have the important task of finding a substitute to the Guardian Badge.

- Andrew stated that he will dye his hair blue if the resistance wins #EXO5

- Intel Map 2.0 might come to life, but not immediately

Call For Embedded Reporters

Agents, Niantic is looking for a few people from each Faction who are willing to help us gather and post photos and videos from the field during XM Anomalies to showcase the activity that occurs during #EXO5.

Selected Agents will be given a free Supporter Kit, sent a limited edition volunteer coin (if you have not received one already), and also receive a special Ingress broadcaster patch.

You must be willing to install preferred apps for photo watermarking photos.

Preference will be given to Agents who have connections with a team that is willing to have their comings and goings documented and shared (you will have to filter any team sensitive information). A bike team. A fielding team. Etc.

Applications will be accepted until 5pm ET on 18 OCT 2017. Selected applicants will be notified a couple of days after.
